The beginnings of the 564th Engineer Construction Battalion dates back from the deactivation of two (2) battalions - the 523RD Engineer Construction Battalion and 533rd Engineer Construction Battalion as a result of the pull-out from Vietnam of then 1st Philippine Civic Action Group (PHILCAG) and the infusion of its Engineer Units to the 51st Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army on 01 November 1968.

On 27 August 2025, the 564th Engineer Construction Battalion proudly welcomed the Deputy Brigade Commander, 51EBde, PA, at Camp Macario Sakay, Los Baños, Laguna. His arrival was honored with military traditions and a heartfelt fellowship, rekindling memories of his past service with the unit.

In his talk to the troops, he emphasized discipline, integrity, and accountability under the Office of Ethical Standards and Public Accountability (OESPA), while reminding everyone of the importance of Gender and Development (GAD) in sustaining harmony within the ranks. His words inspired Team 564ECB to strengthen its commitment to service, leadership, and mission accomplishment.

As the Home of Tagabuklod Battalion, 564ECB looks ahead with renewed determination—continuing to build beyond structures, to connect communities, and to safeguard peace. Anchored on dignity, discipline, and unity, the battalion commits to remain a reliable partner of the Brigade, the Philippine Army, and the nation in shaping a stronger and more resilient future.

51EBde, PA Conducts Strategy Management Training and Pre-AGP Validation

LOS BAÑOS, LAGUNA – The 51st Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army, in partnership with the Governance and Strategy Management Office (GSMO) led by COL DIOMEDES P BALINO GSC (CE) PA, conducted a two-day Strategy Management Training (SMT) and Pre-AGP Validation on 14–15 August 2025 at Camp General Macario Sakay, Los Baños, Laguna.

The training updated personnel of 564ECB on the latest guidelines in Unit Performance Scorecard development. Ensuring that Team 564ECB was updated with the Brigade’s strategic priorities for CY-2025 remain aligned and mission-focused. In addition, the GSMO carried out a validation of the Brigade’s AGP 2024 requirements, identifying areas for improvement and providing technical guidance for enhanced compliance of the Battalion.

Through these initiatives, the 51st Engineer Brigade reaffirms its commitment to organizational excellence and its vital role in advancing the Philippine Army’s Transformation Roadmap to 564 ECB. Likewise, giving emphasis to its subordinate units valuing transparency, accountability and high impact accomplishments.

Team 564ECB embraces its role of being a primary character in the wide spectrum of sustainable development and peace.

564th Engineer Construction Battalion Inaugurates Modern Liaison Building

The 564th Engineer Construction Battalion marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its newly constructed Liaison Building at Camp Atienza, Libis, Quezon City, on 01 August 2025. This development reflects the battalion’s unwavering commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and delivering superior engineering support to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

The ceremony was graced by BGEN ERWIN SALBAD PA, Commander 51st Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army with the COL ELMER JAY ANIBIGNO MNSA (CE) PA, Deputy Commander 51st Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army and Commanding Officers of 548ECB, and 564ECB.

The Liaison Building was designed with modern architecture and integrated technological systems, the Liaison Building will streamline administrative functions, improve coordination, and provide a professional workspace for battalion personnel. This initiative is a testament to the 564ECB’s proactive pursuit of organizational excellence and mission readiness.

In his message, BGEN SALIBAD commended the Battalion’s effort for its visionary leadership, emphasizing that the new facility will serve as a vital hub for collaboration, efficiency, and service to the Filipino people., on behalf of the unit, expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the project, affirming the battalion’s dedication to continuous improvement in support of national development and military operations.

The inauguration of the Liaison Building symbolizes the 564ECB’s enduring commitment to progress, professionalism, and excellence in engineering service.

During the courtesy call they discussed the projects/activities that will help improved the Municipality of Los Baños, Laguna. Moreover, Mayor Nocon tells about brief and rich history of Laguna. Likewise, future developments which will a lifelong impact to people who will visit their place.

With a shared goal, common understanding towards a collaborative effort for future development, the 564th ECB ready to serve, secure anytime , anywhere.

The “Army Engineer” known for its vital role in infrastructure and disaster response, remains steadfast in its commitment to International Humanitarian Law (IHL). By upholding the principles of humanity, impartiality, and respect for human rights, the Battalion ensures its operations always adhere to lawful and ethical standards.

The signage, clearly visible to all entering and exiting the camp, serves as a constant reminder of the fundamental principles of IHL. These principles, including the distinction between combatants and civilians, the prohibition of attacks against civilian objects, and the humane treatment of prisoners of war, are vital in minimizing harm during armed conflict.

The 564th Engineer Construction Battalion (564ECB) participated in the simultaneous flag-raising ceremony alongside the 2nd Civil-Military Operations Battalion (2CMOBn), 2nd Infantry Division (2ID), Philippine Army (PA), and the 4th Regional Community Defense Group (4RCDG), Reserve Command (Rescom), PA. This event was held in observance of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Day.

The message of the Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), was delivered by Colonel Ramil Anoyo, Group Commander of the 4RCDG, Rescom, PA. His message underscored the AFP’s strong commitment to upholding IHL and its vital role in safeguarding civilian lives during armed conflict.

The presence of the 564ECB at the ceremony reflected their active engagement with IHL principles, extending beyond their operational mandate of installing IHL-related signage. Their participation, along with that of other AFP units, served as a powerful symbol of unity and shared dedication to the core values of IHL. This multifaceted involvement highlights the 564ECB's continued commitment to both practical contributions and advocacy for the observance of IHL within the broader framework of the AFP’s mission.

A testament to its enduring legacy as the Army’s premier Engineer unit supporting Infrastructure development across the large Luzon area. Since its inception, the Brigade has remained steadfast in its mission: to build, support, and serve — whether in times of peace, calamity, or conflict.

This year’s celebration not only honors the unit’s rich history and countless accomplishments across the archipelago, but also highlights the courage, discipline, and professionalism of the men and women behind every completed mission and every structure that stands tall in service to the nation. With the theme rooted in innovation, resilience, and unity, the 59th anniversary serves as a powerful reminder of the Brigade’s vital role in both national development and military operations.

The 51st Engineer Brigade continues to move forward — bridging gaps, rebuilding lives, and reinforcing the foundations of progress.

On July 15, 2025, it was successfully celebrated guided with its theme: "Forged by Time, Driven to Serve: 59 Years of Resilient Engineering Excellence."

One of the highlights was a Sports Fest 12-14 July 2025, at Camp Rigoberto Atienza, Libis, Quezon City. The team 564th ECB gave all its best and actively participated by enthusiastic players supported by its cheering group. With a happy and heartfelt gratefulness to accept the 3rd Runner-Up Overall winner for 2025 Sportsfest.

Congratulations Team 564! Once again on this well-deserved achievement. Everyone’s success reflects the strength of teamwork and the spirit of excellence that defines our unit. Keep aiming higher and inspiring others along the way for future competitions!!! God bless us all.

In connection with Tropical Depression "Crising", The 564th Engineer Construction Battalion alert Two (2) Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) Teams on standby alert for possible deployment within the Area of Operation (AO) in response to the effects of the heavy and scattered rainfall caused by HABAGAT and Tropical Depression "Crising". The 564th Engineer Construction Battalion aims to ensure swift and effective response in support to affected communities, particularly in areas prone to flooding and landslides.

A momentous occasion reflects both tradition and the continued growth of military leadership, the unit formally welcomed its newly assigned officer, through a pinning of unit seal at Hqs, 564ECB, Camp Sakay, Lalakay, Los Baños, Laguna on 01 July 2025. The event served as both a symbolic and official recognition for 2LT DJ MARQUEZ (CE) PA to the unit, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his military service.

The pinning of the unit seal is a long-standing tradition in the Philippine Army, symbolizing not only the formal integration of an officer into a specific unit but also a reaffirmation of the values, responsibilities, and commitment expected of every soldier under its banner. It serves as a visual reminder of one’s duty to uphold the unit’s mission, standards, and legacy of service to the nation.

2LT Marquez, a proud member of the Corps of Engineers, was warmly received by “Team 564ECB”.
