Take a look at this Philippine pygmy woodpecker (๐๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ค๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ด ๐ฎ๐ข๐ค๐ถ๐ญ๐ข๐ต๐ถ๐ด) munching on its meal. Aside from being known to drill on trees, woodpeckers actually have long sticky tongues used to sn**ch insects and larvae from tree crevices. This endemic woodpecker species is the smallest in the Philippines!

Take a look at this specimen of the Luzon keelback (๐๐ณ๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ช๐ฅ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ช๐ด ๐ด๐ฑ๐ช๐ญ๐ฐ๐จ๐ข๐ด๐ต๐ฆ๐ณ), and observe the details of its scales. Keelbacks are named so because of its distinct, raised longitudinal ridge known as ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐น๐, on each individual scale. This particular species is found only in Luzon!
