𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | In preparation for the anticipated influx of beachgoers during the 2026 Undas holiday, the Coast Guard Station Southern Quezon (CGSSQ), in coordination with the Maritime Safety Service Unit – Southern Tagalog (MSSU-STL), Marine Environmental Protection Unit Southern Quezon (MEPU-SQ), and the respective Local Tourism Offices, conducted Recreational Safety Enforcement Inspections (RSEI) at various beach resorts in Perez, Alabat, Pitogo, and Gumaca, Quezon.

The inspections focused on the availability of life-saving equipment, proper safety signage, and designated swimming areas to ensure compliance with maritime safety standards and protect beachgoers.

Through the Philippine Coast Guard’s (PCG) Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response, and Enforcement (iCARE) Program, CGSSQ continues to strengthen local partnerships and promote maritime safety and preparedness.

The meeting focused on port security measures, operational preparations, passenger assistance, and the implementation of the 𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 (𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐒) throughout OPLAN UNDAS 2026, prioritizing the convenience, safety, and security of passengers and cargoes while ensuring orderly and efficient port operations.

Through inter-agency coordination and strengthened port security measures, the Philippine Coast Guard, together with its partner agencies, remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of passengers, the orderly movement of travelers, and the smooth conduct of port operations throughout the Undas 2026 period.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | Coast Guard Station Southern Quezon (CGSSQ), together with its Coast Guard Sub-Stations and Mobile Posts, has heightened its state of operational readiness in anticipation of the possible impacts of Typhoon “CHAMPI,”. The system is currently being monitored outside the PAR and may intensify into a super typhoon.

As part of its preparedness measures, CGSSQ has placed its personnel, Deployable Response Teams (DRTs), and response assets on standby to ensure prompt deployment and immediate response to any maritime incident or emergency that may arise due to adverse weather conditions.

The public, particularly fishermen and residents in coastal communities, is advised to remain vigilant, closely monitor official weather advisories issued by PAGASA and other concerned authorities, and refrain from venturing out to sea whenever weather and sea conditions are unsafe.

CGSSQ remains committed to safeguarding lives at sea, ensuring maritime safety, and providing timely assistance to communities that may be affected by severe weather conditions.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | Coast Guard Station Southern Quezon (CGSSQ), together with personnel of MCS 3001, HSRB-035, Coast Guard Sub-Stations (CGSS) Lucena and Cotta, and its Operationally Controlled (OPCON) units, provided maritime safety and security during the St. Raphael the Archangel Parish Fluvial Procession in the vicinity waters off Lucena City, Quezon. The activity was conducted in coordination with the Lucena City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LCDRRMO), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Lucena, Philippine National Police (PNP) Lucena, PNP Maritime Group, and other partner agencies.

Throughout the procession, CGSSQ and participating units maintained maritime presence along the designated route, monitored participating vessels, and ensured compliance with applicable navigation and maritime safety regulations to promote the safe and orderly movement of vessels.

Through close coordination among Coast Guard personnel, partner agencies, local authorities, and maritime stakeholders, the procession proceeded safely and orderly, helping ensure the safety and security of participating devotees.
