It’s Official: Tag-ulan Season na! ☔🌧️
Based on the weather observations and analyses, occasional to frequent rains associated with the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) have been observed over the past five days. This signifies the onset of the rainy season across the western sections of Luzon and the Visayas.
However, monsoon breaks may still occur and last for several days or weeks.

Around 50 agriculture graduates begin review program for licensure exam
Around 50 aspiring agriculturists attended an orientation on June 4 at the Aliwa Gymnasium in Luna, signaling the start of this year’s Review Assistance Program for the Licensure Examination for Agriculturists (LEA).
The activity is being implemented by the Provincial Government of Apayao through the Apayao Student Assistance Program (ASAP) in partnership with the Carl E. Balita Review Center.
Participants were briefed on the review program, schedules, requirements, and other guidelines ahead of the formal review sessions.
Verlie Mae S. Baldovino, ASAP focal person, encouraged the participants to make full use of the opportunity as they prepare for the national licensure examination, noting the important role of agriculturists in supporting agricultural development and food production.
The review assistance program is part of the province’s continuing support for graduates pursuing professional licensure and careers in agriculture.
Agriculture remains one of Apayao’s major industries, with licensed agriculturists serving in various roles related to farm production, extension services, research, and agricultural development.

RCSP caravan reaches Dagupan
Barangay Dagupan in Luna became the latest stop of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) on June 4 as government agencies conducted a Serbisyo Caravan and Ugnayan sa Barangay for residents of the community.
The activity was carried out by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Apayao in partnership with National Line Agencies (NLAs), the Provincial Government of Apayao (PGA), and the Municipal Government of Luna.
Residents availed of services from participating agencies while government representatives gathered information on local concerns and community needs for possible inclusion in future programs and interventions.
Provincial, municipal, and barangay officials also joined the activity, one of several RCSP activities scheduled in selected barangays in Apayao this year.
Dagupan is the third barangay covered under this year's rollout following similar activities in San Gregorio on May 28 and Marag on June 2.
The next RCSP Serbisyo Caravan and Ugnayan sa Barangay will be conducted in Barangay Calabigan, Luna on June 16, followed by Barangay Cagandungan on June 17 and Barangay Calafug, Conner on June 22.
Under the RCSP, government agencies visit identified communities to deliver services and coordinate with residents on priority concerns that may be addressed through existing government programs.

First-ever Apayao CAA Summit gathers 60 participants
Sixty Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) Active Auxiliary personnel from 15 patrol bases in Apayao gathered on June 4 for the province's first-ever Apayao CAA and CADRE Summit at Agappawan Nature Farm in Lydia, Pudtol.
Carrying the theme "Strengthening Unity, Leadership, and Community Security," the two-day activity was organized by the 103rd Infantry Battalion (IB), Philippine Army (PA) in partnership with the Provincial Government of Apayao (PGA) through the Office of the Vice Governor (OVG).
Vice Governor Kyle Mariah Chelsea S. Bulut-Cunan, who represented Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr. as Guest of Honor and Speaker, recognized the contribution of CAFGU members in maintaining peace and assisting communities during emergencies, disasters, and other situations requiring immediate response. She noted that CAFGU personnel occupy a unique position within their communities, allowing them to respond quickly to local concerns and serve as a link between residents and government agencies. Vice. Gov. Bulut-Cunan also assured participants of the Provincial Government's continuing support through livelihood, health, and social service programs for CAFGU members and their families.
She further pointed to the role of CAFGU personnel in helping protect forests, wildlife, and natural resources as Apayao continues to strengthen conservation efforts within its UNESCO-recognized Biosphere Reserve.
Moreover, in his message, Lieutenant Colonel Jimrhic B. Obias, commander of the 103rd Infantry Battalion, discussed the duties and responsibilities of CAA personnel in supporting peace and security operations.
He emphasized that detachment and unit commanders must fully understand their functions and perform them effectively to earn the confidence and respect of the communities they serve. Obias also thanked the PGA for supporting the summit, describing it as an opportunity to strengthen the CAA program and provide participants with updates and interventions relevant to their work.
The summit continues on June 5 with discussions on livelihood opportunities, social welfare programs, health services, environmental protection measures, mental health awareness, and other government initiatives.

AMMA members draft roadmap for province-wide advocacy against violence
Members of the Association of Men Mitigating Violence and Abuses (AMMA) met in Luna on June 3 to map out the organization's direction and strengthen its role in efforts against violence and abuse in communities.
The first semester meeting, organized by the Provincial Government of Apayao through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, gathered AMMA focal persons and counterparts from municipal local government units and provincial offices at Casa Lacuesta in San Isidro Sur.
Among the outputs of the meeting were the drafting of the organization's Constitution and By-Laws and the formulation of action plans that will guide future activities and advocacy campaigns.
PSWDO Head Jocelyn Loyon encouraged members to take a more active role in information and education campaigns in their respective municipalities and to help advance programs promoting responsible manhood, respect within families, and the protection of women and children.
She also pushed for the establishment of AMMA chapters in barangays to widen community participation and strengthen grassroots efforts against violence and abuse.
The activity also included an orientation on the Men Opposed to Violence Everywhere (MOVE) program facilitated virtually by Jehan Ecleo Keyaten, Project Development Officer II of SWAD Apayao, highlighting the role of men in violence prevention and family development initiatives.
