The newly elected officers and sectoral representatives of the Municipal Agricultural and Fishery Council (MAFC) formally took their oath of office before Mayor Santos “Sonny” Alonzo, Jr. on September 2, 2026, at the Mayor’s Office Conference Room.

The ceremony marks a renewed commitment to represent and support the needs of Lupon’s farmers, fisherfolk, and agricultural stakeholders through stronger consultation and collaboration.

Congratulations to all the newly elected MAFC officers and representatives! May you continue to serve with unity, dedication, and commitment toward a more productive and sustainable agricultural and fisheries sector in Lupon.

TURN-OVER OF FARM INPUTS, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENTS TO THE LUPON VEGETABLES GROWERS AND VENDORS ASSOCIATION (LUVGROVA)

Malampusong gipahigayon ang Turn-over of Farm Inputs, Tools and Equipments ngadto sa Lupon Vegetables Growers and Vendors Association (LUVGROVA) isip kabahin sa padayon nga pagpalig-on sa produksyon sa utanon sa Lungsod sa Lupon.

Ang mga interventions nga gipondohan sa Provincial Agriculture Office (PAGRO) naglakip sa knapsack sprayer, power sprayer, plastic drums, plastic crates, garden bolos, ug foliar fertilizer. Samtang ang Department of Agriculture – High Value Crops Development Program (DA-HVCDP) Region XI naghatag og assorted vegetable seeds, 13 ka rolyo sa plastic mulch, ug 100 ka plastic crates.

Nagpasalamat ang Municipal Agriculture Office sa PAGRO ug DA-HVCDP Region XI alang sa ilang padayon nga suporta sa pagpalambo sa sektor sa agrikultura. Dako usab ang pasalamat kang Mayor Sonny Q. Alonzo Jr. ug Vice Mayor Christian Lawrence C. Go sa ilang lig-on nga pagpangulo ug suporta sa mga programa alang sa kaayohan sa mga mag-uuma sa Lungsod sa Lupon.

Padayon ang panaghiusa alang sa usa ka lig-on, produktibo, ug malungtarong agrikultura.

Gipahigayon ang inspeksyon, demonstrasyon, ug Acceptance Testing sa Biomass Shredder nga kabahin sa Small-Scale Composting Facility nga gipundohan sa Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM), uban sa technical personnel sa BSWM ug mga representante sa Suki Trading Corporation. Atol sa kalihokan, gipasundayag ang husto nga operasyon, paggamit, ug pagmentinar sa makina ngadto kang Manager Romulo Tabudlong ug sa mga miyembro sa Nagkahiusang Kristohanong Mag-uuma sa Cocornon Cooperative aron masiguro ang ilang kahibalo sa husto nga paggamit ug pag-atiman sa makina. Distributed fifteen (15) kilograms of Vermiworms (African Night Crawlers) provided by the Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM) to the Nagkahiusang Kristohanong Mag-uuma sa Cocornon Cooperative, Cocornon Rice Farmer Irrigators Association, Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) of Cocornon, and Nagkahiusang Mag-uuma sa New Visayas Association. The distribution supports the implementation of the Small-Scale Composting Facility project, promoting vermicomposting and the production of organic fertilizer to enhance sustainable agricultural practices among farmer organizations.

🌱 LAUNCHING OF THE FARMERS' FIELD SCHOOL (FFS) ON VEGETABLE PRODUCTION 🌱

The Municipal Agriculture Office of LGU-Lupon successfully launched the Farmers' Field School (FFS) on Vegetable Production, funded by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Region XI, held at the CIA Project LAWA at BINHI Site, Brgy. Cocornon, Lupon, Davao Oriental.

This activity gathered 30 members of the Cocornon Irrigation Association, who will undergo season-long learning to enhance their knowledge and skills in sustainable vegetable production.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Mayor Santos Q. Alonzo Jr. and Vice Mayor Christian Lawrence C. Go for their unwavering support of the municipality's agricultural development programs.
