The Sangguniang Kabataan Municipal Federation of M'lang

The Sangguniang Kabataan Municipal Federation of M’lang successfully conducted the COA Exit Conference for Fiscal Year 2024, covering the 10 priority barangays — Buayan, Dugong, Gaunan, Langkong, Palma-Perez, Calunasan, Dungoan, La Suerte, Libo-o, and Poblacion B.

This activity aimed to strengthen financial transparency, accountability, and proper compliance among SK Councils through the review and discussion of audit observations and recommendations.

We also recognized and awarded with simple token of recognition Barangay Bialong, New Antique, Bagontapay, Dugong, and Inas for their exemplary compliance and efficiency in submitting their SK Audit Reports ahead of the prescribed deadline for FY 2024 — a reflection of their commitment to good governance and responsible youth leadership.

Today is a reminder that all SK Chairman and Councils are encouraged for a more dedicated, transparent and accountable service for the youth of M’lang!

The Sangguniang Kabataan Municipal Federation of M’lang held a benchmarking activity in the City of Love, Iloilo City, and in the Municipality of Santa Barbara, Iloilo. The activity focused on SK initiatives and Gender and Development (GAD) best practices, serving as a great way to share ideas and strengthen youth leadership, inclusivity, and gender-responsive programs.

Joining the activity were our youthful councilors, Hon. Clint Ed Abasques and Hon. Kenneth Karl Peroy, together with our DILG Officer, Sir Vince Kim Rojas, MBA, and the DILG staff. Also with us were our Municipal Accountant and GAD Focal Person, Sir Noel Buenafe, CPA, the GAD Secretariat, and our Local Youth Development Officer.

We sincerely thank the City Government of Iloilo through SK City Federation President Hon. Jelma Crystel Implica, and the LGU of Santa Barbara headed by Mayor Hon. Dennis S. Superficial with SK Municipal President Nikka Joan Suganob, for their warm and hospitable welcome.

Special thanks also to our Municipal Mayor Emmanuel “Doc Awing” Abonado for his strong support, as well as to our Vice Mayor Giovani Tajada and the Sangguniang Bayan members for their encouragement.

The Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Municipal Federation of M’lang actively participated in the Regional Evaluation 2025 held at the Provincial Capitol in Amas, today, September 24, 2025.

The event brought together SK leaders and officials from across the province for the purpose of evaluating the SK GEMS (𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞) for Sangguniang Kabataan of the Municipality of M’lang. This evaluation aims to assess the performance, transparency, and efficiency of SK programs and projects, ensuring that youth governance continues to align with good governance standards.

The SK Municipal Federation expressed its commitment to using the results of the evaluation to further improve their programs and address the needs of the youth in the municipality.
