MCWD-GAD Committee in partnership with On Stage School for the Arts (Uyat Artista) facilitated an anti-VAWC stage play entitled:
“Pipit: An Anti-Violence against Women and Children Play”
The activity, as part of the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) with a theme: “United for a VAW-Free Philippines,” provided more than just awareness. Throughout the event, our attendees were not only emotionally moved, but also formally guided and educated on the important provisions of Anti-VAWC Law (RA 9262) strengthening our collective understanding of protection, prevention, and empowerment.
We would like to recognize these amazing individuals and partners who made it happen:
Director Jayson Pabalan of On Stage School for the Arts
- for crafting such an impactful, stirring piece whose message resonated deeply with everyone present;
Atty. Maria Amalia Cayanan (GAD GFPS Chair), Dir. Prospero Lagman, and GM. Hector Aguilar
- for the leadership, steady guidance, and unwavering support that helped bringing this GAD initiative to life;
Uyat Artista and Team
- for the powerful performances, limitless energy, heartfelt portrayals, and the emotion poured into every scene. You gave “Pipit” its soul; and
Public and Private Schools and LGU Partners
- for the participation, presence, and the thoughtful feedback that affirmed the purpose and impact of this advocacy effort.
Once again, thank you. Your presence, your openness, and your support strengthen our shared commitment to building a community that is safe, aware, and truly VAW-free. Looking forward for the next activity! 🧡🧡

A Powerful Stage Play That Speaks for the Silenced ✨
The MCWD–GAD Committee in partnership with On Stage School for the Arts and in support of the 2025 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women proudly presents the upcoming stage play - 𝑷𝒊𝒑𝒊𝒕: 𝑨𝒏 𝑨𝒏𝒕𝒊-𝑽𝒊𝒐𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑨𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒕 𝑾𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒏 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒚.
This compelling production brings to life a story that many women and children know all too well—one marked by silence, fear, and unspoken pain. The imagery of a bound mouth and a single falling tear reflects the struggles of those whose voices have been suppressed by violence and abuse. Through this production, we bring their stories to the stage—not only to raise awareness, but to ignite compassion, courage, and change. 💜🧡
🎭 “Pipit” is more than a play. It is a call to action.
A reminder that no woman or child should ever suffer in silence.
A tribute to strength, survival, and hope.
Join us as we shed light on the realities of VAWC and stand united for a safer, more compassionate community.
Let’s fill the room with voices that refuse to be silenced.
Let’s stand together for a VAWC-free community. 💜🧡
