Rain or shine, the Department of Agriculture ensures that our pets and the community are safe!

Despite the gloomy weather for the last few weeks, the Department of Agriculture is bringing a ray of hope to Barangay Ayala with its free anti-rabies vaccination program. This essential service not only ensures that our beloved furbabies are protected but also brings peace of mind to our community by reducing the risk posed by wandering pets on the streets.

This initiative is made possible thanks to the incredible dedication and hard work of all the volunteers. Your commitment to the health and safety of our pets and community is truly inspiring and deeply appreciated. Thank you for making a difference!

Join us in creating a safer community! Our Municipality of Magalang offered a free anti-rabies vaccination that was held on July 3, 2024, at Brgy. San Vicente to ensure the health and safety of our residents and their pets. Rabies is a serious threat, but together, we can prevent it. By participating in this initiative, you’re not only protecting your loved ones but also contributing to a healthier and safer environment for everyone.

Let's work hand in hand to eradicate rabies from our community. We are encouraging you to become an advocate and implementor of this free rabies vaccination program. The recent free animal vaccination drive held on June 28, 2024, at Barangay Bucanan was a huge success, bringing together pet owners from across the community. Hundreds of pets received essential vaccinations, protecting them from diseases like rabies.

Pet owners expressed their gratitude for the free services, which provided much-needed relief and ensured their pets’ health. The Department of Agriculture hopes to make this an annual event to benefit even more pets and owners in the future. Vaccinating your furbabies aids in the prevention of disease transmission and is crucial for their overall health.

In participation of The Local Government Unit of Magalang under the initiative of Mayor Malu Paras Lacson, together with the Barangay Officials of Barangay San Ildefonso and Dr. Reymond N. Tapnio, Acting-Municipal Agriculturist of the Office of the Agricultural Services joins the Provincial Government of Pampanga in the launch of the province-wide project dubbed ”Gulayan sa Bawat Bakuran”, December 6, 2022.

The said project is under the Alagang Nanay Preventive Healthcare Program, which advocates backyard gardening in every Kapampangan household.

The Office of the Agricultural Services headed by the Acting Municipal Agriculturist, Mr. Royce A. Lising thru the initiative of Hon. Mayor Malu Paras-Lacson conducted a field assessment and site validation of the areas in Magalang, Pampanga to assess their situation after the onslaught of Super Typhoon Karding last September 26, 2022. The super typhoon generated an estimated ₱110 million worth of agricultural damage in Magalang, Pampanga.

According to the Department of Agriculture, the super typhoon has caused an estimated ₱2.02 billion worth of damages and losses to agriculture. In its latest report, at least 91 944 farmers and fisherfolk, with their total volume of production loss valued at 117 663 metric tons and 150 693 hectares of damaged agricultural land in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), the Ilocos Region, the Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, and the Bicol Region.
