Continuing the strong advocacy for safety, resilience, and community preparedness championed by our MDRRM Council Chairperson and beloved Local Chief Executive, Mayor Malu Lacson, the Mdrrmo Magalang DRRM Team was once again invited as the resource speaker for San Isidro Resettlement Elementary School’s Earthquake Preparedness Orientation and Earthquake Drill.
The activity was actively participated in by the Kimdergarten and Grades 1–6 learners, their teachers, and their dedicated School Head, Ms. Barbara M. Cadiang. Under the leadership and unwavering commitment of Mayor Malu Paras Lacson, Magalang continues to strengthen its initiatives in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management—ensuring that even the youngest members of our community are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to stay safe during emergencies, especially earthquakes.

The Mdrrmo Magalang DRRM Team conducted an Earthquake Preparedness Seminar and Earthquake Drill at the Central Luzon Regional Drug Rehabilitation Center in Barangay Sto. Niño, Magalang, Pampanga. This initiative forms part of the proactive Disaster Risk Reduction and Management programs championed by MDRRM Council Chairperson and Local Chief Executive, Mayor Malu Lacson, whose leadership continues to strengthen the Municipality’s culture of safety and resilience.

The activity was actively participated in by the staff and patients of the Central Luzon Regional Drug Rehabilitation Center, ensuring that both personnel and residents are equipped with essential knowledge and skills for earthquake preparedness.

The seminar covered key topics such as understanding earthquakes, pre-earthquake preparations, appropriate actions during seismic events, and the vital roles of the MDRRMO and the community. Participants also received hands-on training on the proper ex*****on of DROP, COVER, and HOLD, as well as correct evacuation procedures to ensure a coordinated and effective response during real emergencies.
