KIAMBA, SARANGANI PROVINCE — Forty-five (45) community members have successfully completed the Community Tour Guiding Training held from August 22–28, 2026 in Kiamba, Sarangani Province, marking another significant step toward strengthening community-based tourism and developing a more skilled tourism workforce in the province.
The seven-day training, with a total of 𝟓𝟔 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬, equipped the participants with essential knowledge and skills in community tour guiding, including responsible tourism practices, interpretation of local attractions, visitor handling, storytelling, guiding techniques, and the importance of preserving the cultural and natural assets that make Sarangani a distinct destination.
The completion of the training is only the beginning. As the next step, the graduates will undergo the necessary accreditation process to formalize their participation in the tourism industry and ensure that they meet the standards required for professional community tour guiding.
Once accredited, the community tour guides will be networked and linked with existing accredited tour operators and tourism stakeholders in the region. This is to create opportunities for the graduates to become part of the region’s tourism value chain—connecting communities directly with visitors and the market.
