𝐈𝐓'𝐒 𝐀 𝐖𝐑𝐀𝐏! 🎓

The Negosyo Center-Program Management Office (NC-PMO), in partnership with the Human Resource and Administrative Service (HRAS), successfully conducted the Pilot Run of the New Business Counselors Course (NBCC) last August 10-14, 2026, at the DTI Academy.

A total of 32 participants from the 17 regions took on the challenge and brought their knowledge, skills, and experiences to the forefront through their Enterprise Assessment Plans (EAPs). The five-day training marks the first of many NBCC runs to be conducted by the DTI Regional Offices in the coming months.

Over the first three days, participants engaged in intensive discussions covering eight (8) key topics, from Effective Business Counseling to Diagnosing the Financial Function of an Enterprise. On the fourth day, participants conducted a MSME Visit, providing them with a valuable opportunity to engage directly with entrepreneurs and gather insights in preparation for their EAP presentations. the groups did a MSME Visit to have an opportunity to discuss with the entrepreneurs in preparation for their EAP Presentation.

The pilot run culminated on the fifth day with the presentation of the participants' EAP outputs and findings before our distinguished evaluators: ROG Assistant Secretary Grace Baluyan, MSG Assistant Secretary Michel Kristian Ablan, and DC Jay Acar (COS of NCRO). We also extend our appreciation to our dedicated resource speakers, all graduates of the SBCC 101 Training of Trainers (TOT): Mr. Jonathan David Laxamana (Region 4B), Ms. Lyza Trapal (Caraga region), Ms. Geraldine Bagadiong and Ms. Daryl Naz (Region 5), Mr. Joseph Pineda (Region 3), Ms. Nerissa N. Saluib (NCRO), and Ms. Aiza Apil (CAR).

As we continue our commitment to MSME empowerment, we remain dedicated to equipping our Negosyo Center Business Counselors (NCBCs) with the essential knowledge, skills, and tools they need to provide effective business counseling and help MSMEs navigate their journey toward sustainable and successful enterprises.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through its Regional Operations Group (ROG), in partnership with BDO Foundation, Inc., officially launched a training program designed to strengthen the capabilities, business knowledge, and financial resilience of micro-entrepreneurs nationwide on September 2, 2026, in Salcedo Village, Makati City.

The program adopts a train-the-trainer approach, equipping DTI trainers with learning modules and practical tools that can be cascaded to micro-entrepreneurs through the Negosyo Center network. It aims to strengthen entrepreneurs’ business decision-making, financial management, and overall resilience.

The launching was led by DTI Secretary Cristina Roque and BDO Unibank Chairperson Teresita Sy-Coson along with other key officials and executives.

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗼𝘀𝘆𝗼 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗦𝗠𝗘𝘀 💼✨

The Negosyo Center–Program Management Office (NC-PMO), in coordination with the DTI Regional Office I, conducted a monitoring activity in the Negosyo Centers of Bani, Binalonan, Calasiao, and the City of Alaminos, Pangasinan, last July 29-30, 2026.

The activity assessed the centers’ operational status and service delivery, identified areas for improvement, and highlighted good practices in supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). It was attended by Assistant Secretary Grace Baluyan, Assistant Regional Director Natalia B. Dalaten, Negosyo Center–PMO personnel, local government officials and staff, including Mayor Facundo “Boying” Palafox Jr. of Bani and Mayor Ramon Ronald V. Guico IV of Binalonan.

Beyond the usual monitoring activities, the group also visited the Hundred Islands E-Kawayan Factory and Bella’s P**o Calasiao. The enterprises showcased their products and provided a firsthand look at their production and factory processes, highlighting their local craftsmanship and innovative practices.

Together, we continue to strengthen the delivery of programs and services for MSMEs across Pangasinan.

The Negosyo Center Program Management Office (NC-PMO), together with the DTI Region IV-A Regional Office led by DC Marina Manalo, and the Quezon Provincial Office (PO) headed by PD Julieta Tadios, successfully conducted a two-day Negosyo Center Monitoring Visits located in the Municipalities of Dolores, Candelaria, and Sariaya, as well as in Lucena PO, last July 1-2, 2026.

The activity marks the completion of the NC-PMO's second round of monitoring visits for the year. These visits assess NC operations, strengthen program implementation, and ensure the continued delivery of quality services to our MSMEs.

The Negosyo Center Program Management Office (NC-PMO), led by Assistant Secretary Grace F. Baluyan, together with the DTI - Cordillera Administrative Regional Office and DTI - Benguet Provincial Office, successfully conducted a two-day Negosyo Center Monitoring Activity in the Municipalities of Atok, Itogon, and Tuba, as well as the City of Baguio, on June 17–18, 2026.

As part of the activity, the team paid courtesy calls on Hon. Franklin P. Smith of Atok, Hon. Bernard S. Waclin of Itogon, Hon. Benjamin B. Magalong of the City of Baguio, and Hon. Clarita P. Sal-ongan of Tuba, represented by Executive Assistant Atty. George Fukai III. These engagements highlighted the importance of strong collaboration between DTI and local government units in advancing programs and services that support the growth and development of MSMEs in their respective localities.

This marks the first of four monitoring visits to be conducted by the NC-PMO team this year, reaffirming DTI's commitment to continuously enhance Negosyo Center operations, ensure the delivery of quality support to MSMEs, and uphold service excellence nationwide.
