Specialist Fire Alarm System Technicians
• Candidates shall have minimum 5-years experience.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English
• With a multi-disciplined background in Fire and Public Address Systems.
• Knowledge of working with Honeywell Notifier (Fire) and Bosh (PA) will be of an advantage.
• Alternative experience in similar products like Gent, Kentec, Notifier, Vesda, Galaxy, Texecom, Commend, BPT, DM, , AXIS and would be considered.
• NFPA experience also very useful.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Fire alarm technicians should view schematics, and IFC drawings of FDAS and/or other related electrical systems for the purpose of determining the efficient installation checks to determine the appropriate fire alarm system and ensure compliance to electrical and fire codes.
2. Technicians should discuss their field findings and recommendations with the building FDAS engineer and install and test the system to make sure it's properly working.
3. Technicians are also responsible for repairing any problems with the FDAS system and replacing defective parts/components.
4. Coordinates with other trades for the purpose of Interface checks and testing (viz; Lifts/ZCV/electrical panels/Dampers/etc.) for completing system third party interfaces efficiently.
5. Inspects electrical / fire alarm / security systems and their system components for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs.
6. Installs and test FDAS system components as assigned (e.g. panels, audible/visual alarms, pull stations, detectors, Isolator Modules etc.) for the purpose of providing system compliance as per design.
7. Monitors the electrical / fire alarm / security system work for pre-commissioning checks ( Ground faults/Device addressing/short circuit test/loop integrity tests) and final Cause and effect test.
8. Prepares written short fall materials, device tagging requirements, loop test reports for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.
