HAPPENING NOW | The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) kicks off its Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) Seminar and Consultation today, June 2, 2026, at Stellar Hotel in Borongan City, Eastern Samar.
The activity brings together employees and employers from private micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), self-employed individuals, labor union representatives, public sector personnel, barangay officials and staff, uniformed personnel from the PNP and BJMP, as well as representatives from DOLE, PESO, SSS, and GSIS. The seminar aims to enhance awareness and understanding of ECP benefits and services, ensuring greater protection and support for Filipino workers in the event of work-related sickness, injury, disability, or death.

ECC Expands Advocacy Initiatives in Samar; Strengthens Social Protection Awareness
BORONGAN CITY, EASTERN SAMAR—The Employees' Compensation Commission (ECC) successfully launched Day 1 of its two-day Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) Advocacy Seminar and Consultation at the Stellar Hotel.
The seminar kicked off with welcome remarks from the Provincial Chamber of Commerce President Conrad Uy and DOLE Eastern Samar Field Office Senior Labor and Employment Officer Neil Moraleta.
The event drew nearly 100 participants, including employers and employees from private micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), as well as self-employed individuals.
Representatives from the public sector also attended the event. The delegation comprised personnel from provincial and city offices, barangay officials, uniformed personnel, staff from the DOLE Eastern Samar Field Office, employees from the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), and representatives from the Social Security System (SSS) and the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).

Ahead of the Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) Advocacy Seminar and Consultation set for June 2, 2026, the Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) conducted a series of courtesy visits on June 1, 2026, to key government offices in Eastern Samar. Among those visited were the Office of the Governor, the Borongan City Government and the City Public Employment Service Office (PESO), GSIS and SSS Borongan Extension Offices, and the DOLE Eastern Samar Field Office.
During the visits, officials expressed their support for the upcoming activity and committed to helping invite participants to ensure wider dissemination of information on the ECP particularly among workers, employers, and stakeholders in the province.

Employees' Compensation Commission (ECC) Executive Director Kaima Via B. Velasquez underscored key points during the 5th Regular Governing Board meeting held on May 21, 2026 at the Occupational Safety and Health Center in Quezon City.
Among the matters deliberated by the Board were the MOA between ECC and the OGCC, structural retrofitting works of ECC bldg. , proposed appeal on CPCS ll to the Governance Commission for Government-Owned or -Controlled Corporations, as well as WRCC updates, among other key agenda items.

ECC conducts barangay ECP seminar in Pasig City
The Employees' Compensation Commission (ECC) conducted an awareness campaign about the Employees' Compensation Program (ECP) on May 28, 2026, at Barangay Bagong Katipunan, Pasig City.
More than 30 participants, including barangay staff and local residents, attended the seminar. This initiative aims to inform the public about the comprehensive benefits and services offered by ECC in the event of work-related sickness, injury or death.
