The DOT-Office of Human Capital Development and the DMW-National Reintegration Center for OFWs met to assess the impact of the successful pilot training of the Balik Bayani sa Turismo Program, discuss future training initiatives, and further strengthen the partnership to benefit the OFW community. The discussion reaffirmed a shared commitment to empowering OFWs through tourism-driven entrepreneurship and livelihood programs.

The DOT, through the Office of Human Capital Development, partnered with the DSWD to enhance resilience and provide support during disasters or climate-related events impacting tourism destinations and frontliners. Through this partnership training assistance is likewise provided, aimed at retooling and re-skilling affected tourism stakeholders, offering alternative income opportunities, and restoring confidence in rebuilding tourism activities.

The DOT, together with the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) conducted the 2nd Meeting of the Joint Technical Working Group on Higher Education Development Fund (HEDF) at the 2nd floor Auditorium of CHED in QC last January 22, 2025. The Joint TWG was created to establish the guidelines on the prioritization of tourism and hospitality programs.

The DOT, through the Office of Human Capital Development, successfully conducted the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence Train-the-Trainers Course for In-house Trainers for the Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center, marking a first for the medical sector. The course was completed by 18 participants, including Clinical Nurse Educators, Head Nurses, Human Resource staff, and Supervisors from various units.
