Look: The DTI-NCRO Area 3, in partnership with PCCIโQuezon City, successfully conducted the webinar on โ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฐ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐๐ฌ๐ฌโ via Zoom last May 20, 2026, attended by 192 MSMEs and aspiring entrepreneurs. The activity formed part of the celebration of Open Government Week led by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), highlighting the governmentโs commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and accessible learning opportunities for the public.
Ms. Anne Marie Francisco, President of PCCIโQuezon City, in her welcome message underscored the importance of continuous learning, strategic planning, and adaptability in helping MSMEs remain resilient and competitive amid evolving market demands.
Mr. Butz Bartolome, popularly known as โThe Franguru,โ a Franchise Mentor and Founder of GMB Franchise Development, served as the resource speaker. He shared valuable business insights drawn from more than 30 years of experience in mentoring and entrepreneurship. He introduced the G.R.O.W. Framework focused on Goals, Revenue, Operations, and Wins, while also discussing practical strategies on customer retention, referrals, loyalty programs, social media marketing, and understanding key business figures to improve profitability and decision-making. Through initiatives like this, DTI-NCRO Area 3 continues to strengthen and empower MSMEs toward sustainable business growth.

The activity aimed to strengthen the awareness and understanding of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) on Intellectual Property (IP) Rights and trademark registration.
The learning session featured Engr. Maria Teresa Q. Laggui, IP Rights Specialist II from the IP Regional Operations Division โ DITTB of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), as the resource speaker. During the session, Engr. Laggui discussed the fundamental principles of Intellectual Property Rights, emphasizing the importance of protecting intangible assets to support innovation, competitiveness, and sustainable business growth. She also provided an overview of trademark registration processes, requirements, and the eligibility criteria for the โJuana Make a Markโ incentive program.
The activity forms part of DTI-NCROโs continuing efforts to provide capacity-building interventions that equip MSMEs with the necessary knowledge and competencies to strengthen their business operations through proper brand protection and legal registration. It also enhanced participantsโ understanding of administrative compliance and strategic brand management, enabling MSMEs to confidently navigate the trademark registration process regardless of prior legal or technical knowledge.
Through initiatives such as the โJuana Make a Markโ Trademark Incentive Program, DTI-NCRO reaffirms its commitment to promoting innovation, protecting local enterprises, and empowering MSMEs toward greater competitiveness and sustainability.
