To ensure that consumers can access accurate and current pricing information for products under its jurisdiction, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is dedicated to providing regular updates on the prevailing prices of Basic Necessities and Prime Commodities (BNPCs). This is part of the agency's efforts to promote fair pricing and consumer protection.

To reinforce fair trade and protect consumers, the DTI-Camarines Norte Provincial Office, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture (DA), conducted an Orientation Seminar on Updates to Fair Trade Laws on May 29, 2026.
Twenty (20) business owners and representatives from local supermarkets, grocery stores, and rice retailers attended the session.
Key Updates Discussed:
EO No. 118, s. 2026: Implementation of the nationwide price ceiling of β±50.00 per kilogram on imported rice for 30 days to prevent profiteering.
DA-DTI JMC No. 01, s. 2026: Strict guidelines on transparent rice labeling (rice type, country of origin, net weight, and supplier details).
The Price Act (RA 7581 / RA 10623): Regulations on automatic price controls and the prohibition of hoarding, profiteering, and cartelization.
Consumer Welfare: Reminders on regular price monitoring, strict compliance with price tags, anti-shortchanging policies, and mandatory discounts for Senior Citizens and PWDs.
DTI-Camarines Norte remains committed to guiding local merchants toward full compliance, ensuring a fair marketplace, and safeguarding consumer rights.

JUST IN: Day 1 of the 2nd 2026 ROG Management Committee (MANCOM) Meeting on June 3, 2026 in Pasay City, led by DTI Regional Operations Group (ROG) Supervising Head Undersecretary Blesila Lantayona, together with Assistant Secretary Dominic Tolentino Jr., Assistant Secretary Grace Baluyan, Assistant Secretary Leonila Baluyut, DBA, and the Regional and Assistant Regional Directors.
The meeting centers on the comprehensive review, reporting, and monitoring of the Minutes of the Previous MANCOM Meeting held in February 19-20, 2026 and the Special MANCOM Meetings on May 5 and 18, 2026.
The key agenda items include the analysis of customer satisfaction results, updates on audit findings, the status of nonconformities and corrective actions, assessment of external provider performance, budget utilization, and the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement to further strengthen organizational performance and service delivery.
