The question of identity has changed from being something you are born with to a task: you have to create your own community. But communities aren’t created, and you either have one or you don’t. What the social networks can create is a substitute. The difference between a community and a network is that you belong to a community, but a network belongs to you. You feel in control. You can add friends if you wish, you can delete them if you wish. You are in control of the important people to whom you relate. People feel a little better as a result, because loneliness, abandonment, is the great fear in our individualist age. But it’s so easy to add or remove friends on the internet that people fail to learn the real social skills, which you need when you go to the street, when you go to your workplace, where you find lots of people who you need to enter into sensible interaction with. Pope Francis, who is a great man, gave his first interview after being elected to Eugenio Scalfari, an Italian journalist who is also a self-proclaimed atheist. It was a sign: real dialogue isn’t about talking to people who believe the same things as you. Social media don’t teach us to dialogue because it is so easy to avoid controversy… But most people use social media not to unite, not to open their horizons wider, but on the contrary, to cut themselves a comfort zone where the only sounds they hear are the echoes of their own voice, where the only things they see are the reflections of their own face. Social media are very useful, they provide pleasure, but they are a trap. — Z. Bauman

What a great opportunity to close my speaking year with Alaska, one of the country's finest companies! A rare honor and privilege for me to have a heart-to-heart session with you. I hope I made some sense yesterday and gave you some more reason to hang on and take difficult things easy, never giving in to hate, never giving up on each other. It all started with love—love for what I do best, love for the people I care about, love for the talent that God gave me. This year has been very forgiving to me. It has been very generous and kind and promising. I made some good decisions. I made some terrible decisions. But this has been a year of opportunities. I gave up some to gain some and left some to be with some. In short, it's awesome. (Get the joke part? No? Intelligent people get that!) But also, this year, I have endured the costs of being so busy. I stretched my self almost to the limit. I almost broke down but with God who strengthened me, I did all those things. I made some promising progress, too. And I look forward to what the next 10 years will bring me. Ten years in this business. Am I kidding you? No, my business registration says so. But the game is far from over. Or maybe, I got over and moved on from those naysayers and negative people, non-believers you may call them. Well, life isn't fun when you don't have those, so I thank them, too. In the last 12 months, I have had a great time here at LL. And in the coming years, our commitment is "learning from every laughter." And so, lo and behold, here are the numbers for 2015...

Para po sa isang masayang seminar, grabe, maraming maraming salamat. One experience I could never ever forget ever and never. Thanks to the Junior Marketing Association of PUP-Taguig and the students of PUP Sta. Mesa and Taguig City University for a memorable and insanely fun seminar. Ang standup comedy para sa librong Paano Maging Successful. Ang saya saya lang. Anyway sa lahat po ng pumila sa food, I mean sa book signing pala, maraming thanks po. Thank you for all the love and support. I'm sure maraming manghihinayang kapag naibalita nyo ang nangyari kahapon. They missed something huge and amazing! So from my heart, always amaze your self.

Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng nagising ang diwa sa ating munting seminar ngunit malaking tawanan kanina. Sa lahat po ng palakpak at standing ovation naku maraming thank you po. Hindi lahat nabibigyan ng palakpak na may kasamang tayo at sigaw. Na-appreciate ko po promise! Sa lahat ng nawalan ng baon dahil bumili ng books ko pasensya na kayo hahaha raket na lang uli. Sa mga magigiting na kagandahan at kagwapuhan ng CEU Malolos. Ako po ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa bawat tawa at palakpak na ibinigay ninyo sa akin. Kahit po maliit ang venue natin (hahaha) Sobrang liit nahiya ako sa size. Masaya naman.
