The Municipal Government of Makilala, through the Rural Health Unit (RHU) and Municipal Nutrition Action Office (MNAO), proudly receives the ACT-PRAISE (Aristides Concepcion-Tan – Partners’ Remarkable, Active Involvement and Service Excellence) Award and the Functional Municipal Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (MESU) Award during the Pugay Pangkalusugan 2026 Regional Awards.

The awards were formally presented today at the Mayor’s Office by Ms. Christine Mae Doong-Maraggun, Ms. Khyla Amor Ardenio, and Ms. Marie-Guy Boterie of MNAO.

These recognitions affirm Makilala’s continuing commitment to strengthening nutrition programs, preventing malnutrition, and enhancing epidemic surveillance and early detection for a healthier and safer community.

Congratulations to our RHU and MNAO, and BNS teams! Your dedication continues to make a difference in the lives of Makilaleños.

Mayor Armando M. Quibod convened a meeting at the Mayor’s Office today to discuss Cotabato Governor Emmylou “Lala” Taliño-Mendoza’s directives to LGU executives on strengthening safe spaces and ensuring the protection of children against bullying and all forms of violence especially in the schools.

Present were Municipal Councilor Manuel C. Lalaguna, Municipal Councilor/SK Federation President Lucky Flores, MLGOO Narciso Beceira, and LGU Consultant Atty. Esther Vega.

Together, we reaffirm our commitment to building a community where every child is protected, respected, heard, and empowered to grow in a safe environment.

The Municipal Government of Makilala conducted its 3rd Quarter Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) Meeting on September 29, 2026, bringing together MPOC members and partner agencies to discuss matters concerning peace, order, and local governance.
The meeting was presided over by Municipal Administrator Jose “Jun” Caparida, representing Mayor Armando M. Quibod, and was well attended by members of the MPOC.

Among the key agenda discussed were the presentation of the 2027 Municipal Budget, agency reports and updates, and other matters relevant to maintaining peace, order, and public safety in the Municipality of Makilala.

The meeting reaffirmed the Municipal Government’s commitment to strong inter-agency coordination, responsive governance, and collective action in addressing the needs and concerns of the community.

With unity, cooperation, and shared commitment, the Municipal Government of Makilala and its partner agencies continue to work hand in hand toward a safer, more peaceful, and progressive municipality. A peaceful Makilala is a stronger Makilala.

The Municipal Government of Makilala has been recognized by the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) Kidapawan City Branch Office as one of the Top-Paying Agencies in Non-Life Insurance Premiums for Calendar Year 2025, placing 4th among recognized government agencies.

The recognition was formally presented during the Property Officers’ Meeting held on September 30, 2026, at Park Lay Suites, Quirino Drive, Kidapawan City.

This achievement reflects the Municipality of Makilala’s commitment to its responsibilities and obligations, particularly in ensuring the proper administration and protection of government properties and assets.

The Municipal Government extends its congratulations and appreciation to the General Services Office (GSO), headed by Ms. Sheryl C. Orbita, whose dedication, diligence, and effective management have contributed significantly to this accomplishment.

This recognition serves as another testament to the continuing efforts of Makilala’s employees to uphold responsible governance, accountability, and efficient public service. (MICO)

The Municipal Cooperative Development Council (MCDC) of Makilala launched its Cooperative Month 2026 celebration today, October 1, with a vibrant series of activities highlighting the strength, unity, and continuing growth of the municipality’s cooperative sector.

The celebration opened with a motorcade, followed by a lively pasarela of Cooperative Muses, a community Zumba session led by ZIN DL Jessie, and the official Cooperative Month Opening Program.

MCDC and newly elected PCDC Chairman Mr. Danny Gascal formally opened the program and encouraged local cooperatives to strengthen their organizations through collective action, responsible leadership, and continuous self-improvement. He emphasized that while cooperatives should work closely with the government, they must also develop the capacity to stand on their own, pursue sustainable growth, and work persistently toward their organizational goals.

Guest speaker Mr. Rey Gauran of the Provincial Cooperative Development Office (PCDO)–Cotabato commended MCDC Makilala for being among the few local cooperative councils that actively celebrate Cooperative Month. He underscored the importance of dedicated leadership, sound management, and responsible governance in helping cooperatives reach greater heights.
Makilala takes pride in being home to one of the province’s notable large-scale cooperatives, the Makilala Multipurpose Cooperative, demonstrating the potential of the cooperative movement to create sustainable economic opportunities for its members and the community.

The program concluded with the grateful closing remarks of MCDC Vice Chairman Leopoldo Dulay, as cooperative members and partners looked forward to a month-long celebration of cooperation and community empowerment.
Throughout October, cooperatives across Makilala will continue to conduct activities promoting the benefits, values, and opportunities of becoming part of the cooperative community.
The celebration is strongly supported by Mayor Armando M. Quibod through the Municipal Cooperative Development Office (MCDO), reinforcing the Municipal Government’s commitment to building stronger, self-reliant, and sustainable cooperatives as partners in local development.
