MALAY – A CPR-READY TOURIST DESTINATION

October 3, 2026 | CityMall Boracay, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan

The Local Government Unit of Malay, through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), under the leadership of Hon. Frolibar S. Bautista, Municipal Mayor, in partnership with the Philippine Heart Association (PHA), successfully conducted the CPR-Ready Malay: Community CPR Training Program.

The program equipped community stakeholders with essential knowledge and practical skills in recognizing cardiac emergencies, performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and responding promptly during life-threatening situations.

The training brought together approximately 600 participants, including tourists, workers, residents, tourism frontliners, hotel and establishment personnel, volunteers, private sector representatives, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), MDRRMC members, and other community stakeholders.

A significant part of the initiative was the participation of Barangay Yapak as the pilot CPR-Ready Barangay, strengthening its capacity to respond to cardiac emergencies and provide timely assistance when every second counts.

Through this initiative, Malay continues to strengthen its commitment to becoming a safer, more prepared, and CPR-ready tourist destination, where residents, workers, and visitors are empowered with the knowledge and skills to help save lives.

SUSPENSION OF CLASSES

October 5, 2026 | Monday

Pursuant to Executive Order No. 42, Series of 2026, issued by the Honorable Frolibar S. Bautista, Municipal Mayor of Malay, Aklan, work and classes in all levels of public and private educational institutions within the Municipality of Malay are hereby SUSPENDED on Monday, October 5, 2026.

This suspension is declared in observance of National Teachers’ Day and World Teachers’ Day, in recognition of the invaluable contributions, dedication, and commitment of our teachers in shaping the minds and future of our learners.

This special occasion serves as a reminder that the invaluable contributions of our teachers to education and nation-building are recognized, respected, and deeply appreciated.

To all our teachers: Thank you for shaping minds, inspiring dreams, and transforming lives.
