The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST), represented by its Scholarship Office personnel and student-scholars, actively participated in the Coconut Scholarship Program (CoScho) Awarding Ceremony and the CHED RO XI Scholars’ and Grantees Bootcamp Series 1 on October 15, 2026, held at the Grand Menseng Hotel, Davao City.

Carrying the theme "Roots to Result: Coconut Innovation for Community Impact," the regional gathering brought together CoScho focal persons, institutional representatives, and scholar-beneficiaries from various higher education institutions across Region XI.

Through the interactive bootcamp, participants deepened their knowledge and enhanced their capacity to drive innovation in the coconut industry. The initiative aims to empower scholars to actively contribute to sustainable agricultural development and foster meaningful community impact.

This activity forms part of the ongoing collaborative partnership between Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) to advance quality education, technological innovation, and economic opportunities for the coconut farming and processing sectors in the region.

In light of this milestone, the SPAMAST Scholarship Office and its scholar-beneficiaries extend their heartfelt gratitude to the SPAMAST administration for its unwavering support for student welfare and for continuously providing opportunities that nurture both personal and academic growth.

On October 15, 2015, Republic Act 10687 established the Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST). Its mandate is to unify the government’s student financial assistance programs, including grants-in-aid, so that quality higher education is within reach of every Filipino, especially the poor and marginalized.

More than a decade later, that mandate lives in classrooms across the nation. Through programs like the Tertiary Education Subsidy and Free Higher Education in state universities and colleges, UniFAST helps make sure financial hardship never stops a deserving student from earning a degree. Behind every program are students working toward their diplomas, households finding relief, and futures taking flight.

As we mark , UniFAST celebrates more than its own growth. We celebrate 11 years of transforming lives.

Before UniFAST turns 11 tomorrow, let’s revisit the milestones that have shaped the agency through the years.

Since its establishment in 2015, UniFAST has continued to develop its programs, expand its reach, and work toward making higher education more accessible to Filipino learners.

Eleven years in, we've already come a long way, and there's still more work to do. UniFAST is to transforming more lives!
