Older kids and grown-ups are welcome to join the parade. However, prizes and candies are reserved for the little ones. A photo booth will be available to capture your hauntingly fun memories!

SUBJECT: Implementation of Health Guidelines During Flu Season

1. RATIONALE

In anticipation of the increased incidence of influenza-like illnesses (ILIs) during the flu season, the City Health Office of Malolos hereby issues the following health guidelines to prevent transmission, protect vulnerable groups, and maintain uninterrupted delivery of essential health services.

2. HEALTH GUIDELINES
A. Public Awareness and Education

Inform the public about common flu symptoms such as fever, sore throat, cough, runny nose, headache, and body aches.

Encourage early consultation at the nearest health center if symptoms persist or worsen.

Promote respiratory etiquette by covering the mouth and nose with a tissue, handkerchief, or elbow when coughing or sneezing.

Reinforce hand hygiene through frequent handwashing with soap and water or use of alcohol-based sanitizers.

B. Mask Use and Home Isolation

Encourage the use of face masks in crowded or enclosed spaces, particularly for individuals with coughs or colds.

Those experiencing flu-like symptoms are advised to stay home and avoid attending work, school, or public events until fully recovered and fever-free for at least 24 hours without medication.

Avoid close contact with persons exhibiting flu symptoms and maintain safe physical distancing when possible.

C. Strengthening of Health Facilities

Ensure that all Barangay Health Stations (BHS) and Rural Health Units (RHUs) have adequate stocks of masks, disinfectants, and basic medicines for flu management.

Health personnel must remain alert for signs of complications such as pneumonia or dehydration and initiate prompt referral when necessary.

Maintain surveillance and timely reporting of influenza-like illness cases to the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) for trend monitoring and response.

D. Environmental and Workplace Measures

Improve ventilation in offices, schools, and public spaces.

Conduct regular cleaning and disinfection of frequently touched surfaces including doorknobs, tables, handrails, and equipment.

Remind employees and clients to bring personal hygiene items (tissues, alcohol, hand sanitizers).

E. Protection of Vulnerable Populations

Monitor the health status of senior citizens, children, and individuals with chronic illnesses.

Family members and caregivers are advised to avoid exposing these groups to persons with flu-like symptoms.

Barangay officials are encouraged to assist in identifying and providing support to affected households.

F. Communication and Coordination

The City Health Office shall release periodic public advisories as necessary.

Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERTs) and barangay officials shall aid in community-level information dissemination.

Coordination with the Provincial Health Office of Bulacan and the Department of Health shall be maintained for technical guidance and reporting.

3. GENERAL REMINDER

All employees and constituents are reminded to maintain a healthy lifestyle through proper nutrition, adequate rest, hydration, and stress management to strengthen immunity and reduce susceptibility to flu infections.

4. EFFECTIVITY

These guidelines shall take effect immediately and remain in force throughout the flu season or until further notice.

In line with the directive from the Office of the City Mayor, Atty. Christian D. Natividad, Barangay Panasahan actively participated in the City-Wide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill spearheaded by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO). This citywide activity aims to strengthen the preparedness and awareness of every citizen in the event of an earthquake or other natural calamities.

The Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (BDRRMC) of Barangay Panasahan, under the leadership of Punong Barangay Hon. Celerino F. Aniag, led the local implementation of the drill. Barangay officials, tanods, SK officers, and community volunteers worked hand in hand to ensure that the activity was conducted in an organized and realistic manner.

During the drill, students, faculty, and staff of Panasahan Elementary School, together with community residents, participated actively by performing the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” routine and following the established evacuation procedures. The simulation showcased the unity, discipline, and readiness of the Panasaheños in responding to disaster situations.

In his message, Hon. Celerino F. Aniag highlighted the importance of continuous education, proper information dissemination, and preparedness in reducing the risks brought by natural disasters. He reminded everyone that disaster response starts with awareness and readiness at the household level, which collectively contributes to the safety of the entire community.

This initiative reflects the barangay’s commitment to supporting the City Government of Malolos in promoting disaster resilience and ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens. Through activities like this, Barangay Panasahan continues to foster a culture of preparedness, vigilance, and cooperation among its people.
