On June 1, 2026, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)โCamiguin, upon the invitation of the Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) of Camiguin, participated in the Pre-Construction Conference for the Multi-Purpose Building (Annex Building), Grounds, and Women and Children Crisis Center under FY 2025 LGSF-FALGU.
During the activity, the discussion highlighted the department's role in the implementation of the project, particularly in monitoring its progress and providing updates. Meanwhile, the Provincial Government Unit (PGU) presented the project components, including the scope of work, technical specifications, site conditions, and compliance with government infrastructure standards.
The activity provided an opportunity to identify potential concerns, clarify responsibilities, and establish a common understanding among concerned offices. These efforts support the timely and effective implementation of mentioned project and contribute to the successful delivery of government infrastructure services.

๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐ | In line with the continuing pursuit of a more responsive, adaptive and people-centered governance framework, the DILG-10 Regional Office, in coordination with its Field Offices, spearheaded the conduct of the 1st Local Governance Reform: Review and Amendment Program for the Local Government Code of 1991 (LGCRevAmP) Convention on Tuesday, May 26, at Chali Beach Resort and Convention Center, Cagayan de Oro City.
Serving as a vital platform for reviewing and proposing strategic amendments to the Local Government Code (LGC) of 1991, the Convention ensures that the LGC remains attuned to the evolving needs, emerging challenges and aspirations of local government units (LGUs) and the communities they serve in these changing times.
In attendance were the local officials of the Provincial Government of Camiguin represented by its Board Members. Also in attendance were the Local Chief Executives (LCEs), Sangguniang Bayan members, Liga ng mga Barangay (LNB) Presidents and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation Presidents of the municipalities of Catarman, Guinsiliban, Mahinog, Mambajao and Sagay.
One of the highlights of the activity was the conduct of workshop on the proposed amendments to the LGC, emphasizing on identification of local governance issues and concerns and its corresponding proposed legislative reforms anchored financial and fiscal, service delivery, local autonomy and administrative and operations.
In his message, DILG-10 Regional Director Bruce A. Colao, CESO V, emphasized that the vision and mission of every LGU embody the very spirit and intent of the LGC, as they reflect the commitment of local governments to uphold genuine local autonomy and responsive governance for their constituents. ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ง๐๐๐ฆ ๐ข๐จ๐ง | The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Camiguin, serving as the Head Secretariat of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), facilitated the Technical Working Group (TWG) Virtual Meeting of the Joint Councils composed of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC), Provincial Task Force for the Management of Emerging and Re-Emerging Infectious Diseases (PTF-MEREID), Provincial Task Force on Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC), Provincial Task Force Disiplina (PTF DISIPLINA), and Solid Waste Management Board (SWMB) on Monday, May 25, 2026, via Zoom.
The activity served as a preparatory coordination meeting aimed at finalizing the agenda, discussing updates, and consolidating proposed resolutions for the upcoming face-to-face Joint Meeting of the Councils tentatively scheduled on June 19, 2026.
The virtual meeting highlighted the continued commitment of member agencies and stakeholders to strengthening collaboration and ensuring coordinated actions in advancing peace and order, anti-drug initiatives, disaster preparedness and response, public health management, environmental protection, and good governance in the Province of Camiguin.

May 21, 2026, Mambajao, Camiguin โ The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Camiguin initiated the preparatory meeting in line with the upcoming conduct of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT) 2026, focusing on strengthening youth-centered advocacy initiatives.
The meeting served as a platform to align plans and activities for the implementation of youth engagement programs that promote awareness on the dangers of illegal drugs and reinforce community-based prevention efforts.
Through these efforts, DILG Camiguin reinforces its commitment to strengthening grassroots participation in anti-drug advocacy and promoting sustained community vigilance against substance abuse.

๐๐ข๐ข๐: Department of the Interior and Local Government Camiguin participated in the Consultation Workshop for the Formulation of the Camiguin Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Plan spearheaded by the Department of Science and Technology Camiguin on May 22, 2026, held at Camiguin Highland Resort.
The activity forms part of DOSTโs continuing efforts to strengthen science, technology, and innovation-driven development initiatives in the province through the formulation of a comprehensive and responsive STI Plan for Camiguin. The plan aims to identify priority needs, development opportunities, and strategic interventions aligned with local and national development goals.
The consultation workshop gathered representatives from various National Government Agencies (NGAs) to support the convergence of programs, projects, and services relevant to the identified sectoral priorities and development concerns raised during the municipal-level consultation workshops previously conducted across the province.
Through the inter-agency consultation, participating agencies shared valuable inputs and potential interventions to help ensure coherent planning, collaboration, and implementation of science, technology, and innovation initiatives that will contribute to the sustainable development of Camiguin.

๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ | The DILG Camiguin recognized and honored its student-interns during a recognition program held on Wednesday, May 20, for successfully completing their internship program in the Department.
In her message, PD Cimacio expressed her hope that the student-interns would carry with them the knowledge, skills and valuable learnings they gained from their internship experience as they continue their academic and professional journey.
In addition, she also shared her aspiration that their exposure and experience with DILG Camiguin would inspire them to become future public servants committed to serving their communities with dedication and integrity.

On May 19-21, 2026, the Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC), chaired by the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev), formerly the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), and with the participation of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)โCamiguin, conducted the Monitoring Committee Second Quarter 2026 Field Monitoring Visits (Batch 1) in the Province of Camiguin.
The site visits were undertaken to monitor the implementation of priority programs and projects. Through on-site validation, DEPDev evaluated project progress, verified compliance with approved plans and standards, and provided comments and recommendations to support effective project ex*****on.
The activity aimed to assess the level of implementation and determine whether project objectives and expected outputs are being achieved. It also served as a venue for generating initial findings to support planning and decision-making, while reinforcing the importance of inter-agency coordination in ensuring the effective and timely delivery of government programs.
Also present in the activity were representatives from various implementing agencies, who discussed project implementation updates, as well as the project contractor, who provided updates on project completion and related concerns. Issues and challenges encountered during implementation were also discussed, along with possible resolutions and agreed actions to address delays, technical concerns, and other implementation obstructions.
The initiative underscores the importance of continuous monitoring and evaluation in ensuring that government projects are implemented efficiently, remain aligned with approved plans, and deliver intended benefits to local communities.
