The studio of DXCC RMN recently welcomed Ms. Lorna Sacote-Lagradas and Mr. Alfredo L. Bonsato, Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) of Camiguin under the SPLIT Project of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR). Their participation in the program provided listeners with direct insights into the experiences of ARBs in the province and how government initiatives have supported them in securing land ownership.
During the interview, Ms. Sacote-Lagradas and Mr. Bonsato shared the challenges they faced as farmers prior to receiving their E Titles, including managing farm work while waiting for formal ownership, navigating documentation requirements, and understanding their rights as beneficiaries. They also discussed how the SPLIT Project helped subdivide collective landholdings and issue individual titles, ensuring legal security and clarity of ownership.
The beneficiaries highlighted the importance of receiving their E Titles, noting that formal land ownership allows them to plan for their familiesโ future and make decisions about land use. Their experiences demonstrated how the project provides tangible benefits to ARBs, offering stability, legal recognition, and opportunities for long-term development in their communities.
The guesting was facilitated by RMN Anchor Analiza Amontos-Reyes, with support from the DAR communications team composed of RIO Jun Hisona Jr., Regional Media Writer Krystel Fiel, Regional Graphic Artist Richard Tanilon, and PIO/StratComm Coordinator/SPLIT Provincial Media Writer Sharah May Mawile, who ensured the smooth coordination of the program.
This session provided the public with a clear understanding of the SPLIT Projectโs implementation in Camiguin and how it directly impacts ARBs, emphasizing the value of formal land ownership in improving livelihoods and promoting rural development.
Through their firsthand accounts, Ms. Sacote-Lagradas and Mr. Bonsato illustrated the realities and benefits of agrarian reform, showing how DAR programs continue to support ARBs in Camiguin and strengthen the foundation for sustainable farming communities.
