Ma’am Robelyn B. Magbasa, fondly known as Ma’am Cheche, is a teacher whose quiet and gentle personality leaves a meaningful impression on everyone around her. Demure, well-mannered, and composed, she carries herself with grace and humility in both her professional and personal interactions.
As a Science teacher, Ma’am Cheche brings patience, dedication, and enthusiasm into her classroom. Her calm demeanor creates a welcoming learning environment where learners feel comfortable asking questions, exploring ideas, and discovering the wonders of science.
One of the qualities that makes her stand out is her ever-present smile. Even amidst the demands and challenges of teaching, she maintains a pleasant and positive disposition. Her smile reflects not only her warmth but also her genuine care for her learners and colleagues.
Quiet yet purposeful, gentle yet committed, Ma’am Cheche proves that a teacher does not always have to be loud to make an impact. Sometimes, a calm presence, a kind smile, and a sincere heart for teaching can speak louder than words.

Leader Who Inspires

Some leaders are remembered for the positions they hold, while others are remembered for the difference they make in the lives of the people they lead. For Del Pilar National High School, Sir Jovil B. Lagnayo is one of those leaders.

As a school principal, Sir Jovil is known for his discipline, fairness, and dedication. His firm presence reminds everyone to take their responsibilities seriously, yet behind that firmness is a leader who knows how to listen, understand, and extend support when it is needed.

He believes that leadership is not simply about giving instructions. It is about setting an example. Through his actions, he encourages teachers and learners to work with commitment, respect one another, and always strive to do better. His hardworking nature and genuine concern for the school community can be seen in the way he handles challenges and supports the people around him.

For the Del Pilarians, Sir Jovil is more than just the person in the principal’s office. He is a leader who walks with his teachers, listens to his learners, and works toward a school where everyone feels valued and motivated.

His leadership may be guided by discipline, but it is strengthened by understanding and compassion. Through his dedication, he continues to inspire the Del Pilar community to move forward together—with unity, growth, and excellence.

Stern in Leadership, Yet Genial at Heart: The Leader Behind the Leaders

The room grows quieter as he walks into the classroom. His presence alone is enough to remind everyone to settle down and pay attention. But behind his strict demeanor lies a personality that can easily draw laughter from students, even in tense moments.

He is Mr. Elmer “Sir Bayok” O. Vallez—a Head Teacher, SSLG Adviser, loving father and husband, and supportive colleague. Born on October 5, he completed his studies at the age of 21 and officially joined the Department of Education in 2009.

He is strict when it comes to grades and can be a perfectionist at times, but he does so because he wants his students to reach greater heights. He is particularly stern when it comes to leadership, especially when guiding student leaders. When they make mistakes, he would often say, “Wa ako kadaman ano? Ayaw mayo yani pagdibdiba, kay isip adviser mayo sang SSLG gusto ko sab na madayaw yang kamayo pamumuno sang kanaton school.”

He does not hesitate to correct and reprimand students when they make mistakes, but that is only one side of his personality. He also knows how to make students laugh in class and recognizes their efforts. A simple “Very good” from him can make a student’s day. Those who truly know him describe him as jolly, approachable, and full of wisdom.

He guides students not only in fulfilling their responsibilities but also in facing the challenges that come with being young leaders. He may be stern when it comes to leadership and genial when the moment calls for it, but beyond these qualities is a mentor who continues to shape student leaders and help them reach their full potential.

Truly, he is a leader behind the leaders.

Behind every firm voice in the classroom is a heart that cares deeply. Behind every rule she is a teacher who believes that discipline is an essential part of shaping young lives. This is the story of Ma’am Wilda, a brave and dedicated teacher who faces every challenge with courage, commitment, and compassion.

As a teacher, Ma’am Wilda is known for being firm when it comes to discipline. She believes that setting clear boundaries and teaching learners to respect rules are not acts of strictness alone, they are ways of preparing them to become responsible individuals. Her firmness is matched by her genuine concern for the learners entrusted to her care.

As a Filipino teacher, she carries her profession with dedication and purpose. Every lesson she teaches goes beyond words written on a board; it reflects her commitment to help learners appreciate not only the Filipino language and culture but also the values that shape them as people.

Beyond the classroom, Ma’am Wilda embraces another meaningful role—that of a mother. As a mother of two, she understands the patience, sacrifice, and unconditional love required to nurture young lives. The same heart she gives to her children is reflected in the way she cares for her learners.

Recently, she also began a new chapter in her personal life as she married her beloved Kuya Anthony. This new journey brings another dimension to the woman behind the teacher's desk—a wife, a mother, and a dedicated educator who continues to balance the demands of family and service.

Ma’am Wilda's story reminds us that a teacher can be strong without losing compassion, firm without losing kindness, and brave without losing humility. She stands before her learners not simply as a Filipino teacher, but as a woman whose courage, love, and dedication continue to make a difference—one learner, one lesson, and one day at a time.

Small Frame, Lion's Heart: The Unstoppable Drive of Ma'am Mikmik

"She may be small in stature, but Ma'am Mikee Jane M. Sabillo—affectionately called 'Mikmik' by her colleagues—carries the heart and courage of a lion." As the dedicated adviser of Grade 11-Jacinto, she stands tall against any obstacle, facing life's toughest challenges with an unshakeable, brave spirit.

While she is an independent single lady, she moves through life grounded, protected, and guided by a strong faith and inner strength. As a passionate Mathematics teacher, she brings that same fierce energy into the classroom. She sets high standards for her learners, constantly pushing them to push past their limits and excel—proving to them that no equation or obstacle is too difficult to overcome.

In fact, the only problems Ma'am Mikmik really loves to solve are the ones involving her high heels! No matter what trials come her way, she remains unbothered, composed, and ready to press forward. Ma'am Mikmik is a true inspiration to her Grade 11-Jacinto family: a woman of grace, strength, and unwavering determination.

Step into her Araling Panlipunan class, and you’re instantly greeted by her soothing, gentle voice. It’s a sound her students genuinely look forward to, turning every lesson into an inviting space where learners are eager to listen, participate, and engage. Shared with her husband is a deep faith; both are passionate preachers of God's Word, letting their spiritual values guide how they lead and serve.

Though she is still working toward a permanent position, Ma’am Vanessa’s dedication to her craft never wavers. Her passion, commitment, and heartfelt service to young minds prove that true teaching comes straight from the heart, long before it shows up on paper.
