Those grounding words opened Day 1 of Project CARE (Creating Awareness, Resilience, and Emotional Wellness), instantly setting a vulnerable tone for what was to come. What followed was a rare outpouring of raw emotionโtears, tight embraces, and a profound sense of collective relief.
On May 29, 2026, the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) Public Health Office, in partnership with Barangay Nangka officials led by Brgy. Captain Hon. Celso R. Delas Armas Jr., successfully launched this critical mental health milestone.
The atmosphere inside the community hall was heavy with shared histories, yet pulsing with an undeniable desire for change. Far from a standard, rigid health lecture, this initial rollout focused heavily on dismantling the "culture of silence" that frequently isolates survivors of domestic abuse and deep psychological distress.
This is only Day One. With the campaign set to roll out further in the coming days, both NCMH and Barangay Nangka officials are pledging to sustain this powerful momentum, proving that mental health care belongs right at the doorstep of the people who need it most.
