The Department of Health - Metro Manila Center for Health Development (DOH-MMCHD) successfully concluded the MMCHD Regional Awards 2025 on November 13, 2025, with the theme “DAKILAKALUSUGAN: Gabi ng Pagkilala at Pasasalamat.” The event brought together local government units, partner hospitals and facilities, and stakeholders in a meaningful night dedicated to recognizing outstanding contributions to public health in the National Capital Region.

Held to honor excellence, resilience, and innovation in health service delivery, DAKILAKALUSUGAN highlighted the remarkable efforts of LGUs and partners in advancing the 8-Priority Health Outcomes and supporting the Universal Health Care (UHC) journey of the region. From strengthening primary care systems to fortifying disease prevention programs, awardees demonstrated exceptional dedication to improving the health and well-being of every Filipino in Metro Manila.

Throughout the evening, MMCHD acknowledged exemplary LGUs for their performance in UHC implementation, innovative practices in health programs, and significant strides in community-based services. Special citations also recognized facilities and partners who consistently championed responsive, inclusive, and people-centered care.

With heartfelt messages of thanks and inspiration from the Regional Director and other officials, the event celebrated not only accomplishments but also the shared commitment to building a healthier Metro Manila. The DOH-MMCHD reaffirmed its vision of stronger partnerships and collective action, ensuring that every community in NCR continues to move forward, healthier and more empowered than ever.

The Department of Health – Metro Manila Center for Health Development (DOH-MMCHD) held the Recognition and Awarding Ceremony of NCR Hospitals as Hall of Fame Awardees for Mother-Baby Friendly Health Facilities Accreditation on August 20, 2025, at Hotel Lucky Chinatown, Manila.

Out of 165 hospitals across the National Capital Region, 35 hospitals proudly bagged the Hall of Fame Award for their unwavering commitment to upholding the standards of the Mother-Baby Friendly Health Facility Initiative (MBFHI). This recognition highlights their excellence in protecting, promoting, and supporting breastfeeding and mother-baby-friendly practices.

The event also honored the Local Government Units (LGUs) of NCR for their strong efforts and support in the assessment and accreditation of workplaces to be certified as Mother-Baby Friendly Workplaces. Their active role underscores the importance of ensuring that mothers and their babies are cared for not only in health facilities but also in workplaces and communities.

In addition, the Pioneer Assessors of Mother-Baby Friendly Health Facility Initiative in NCR were recognized for their dedication and service, along with the Facility Accreditation and Certification Unit (FACU) of DOH-MMCHD, which was established to further strengthen the implementation and sustainability of the initiative across the region.

This milestone serves as an inspiration to continue building a healthier future for every mother and child, where safe, supportive, and nurturing environments are always within reach.

For the first time ever, Nutritionist-Dietitians (NDs) from various LGUs across Metro Manila gathered for a Nutrition Conference held last June 26–27, 2025 at Manila Prince Hotel, Ermita, Manila.

It was a meaningful event filled with learning, sharing of experiences, and strengthening of partnerships among our local nutrition champions. The two-day conference served as a platform to discuss nutrition program updates, challenges, and innovative strategies toward improving the nutritional status of communities in the National Capital Region.

We successfully conducted the Roll-out Training of Service Providers Course for the Management of Acute Malnutrition (Batch 2) last June 9–11, 2025 at Prime Asia Hotel, Angeles City, Pampanga!

The training aimed to provide simple, practical guidelines and additional technical support to equip our service providers in effectively addressing acute malnutrition in children.

This 3-day activity brought together dedicated participants from various hospitals across Metro Manila. It was a truly meaningful and insightful experience, covering important updates, sharing of best practices, and strengthening capacities in managing severe acute malnutrition.

A big thank you to everyone who made this training a success!
