On May 26, the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) gathered national government agencies, older persons’ organizations, local government units, and research and data experts to obtain insights on current trends, challenges, policy and program interventions, and recommendations on the Voluntary National Survey of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing (MIPAA).

The principles of life course, health and well-being, and enabling environments, established in Madrid over twenty years ago, are not just international ideals, but a part of our current and immediate national blueprint for older persons. MIPAA is the global guiding document on population ageing, adopted at the Second World Assembly on Ageing, in 2002 in Madrid, Spain. Our Philippine Population and Development Plan of Action (PPD-POA) 2023-2028 directly echoes these priority directions.

CPD believes that every individual and every community should be included and no one should be left behind, particularly our older persons. The ageing demographic shift presents a unique opportunity to achieve silver dividend. As Filipinos live longer and healthier lives, they can continue to contribute to the economy, creating new opportunities for progress.

Ano ang ProtecTEEN? - Ito ay isang social technology na naglalayong tulungan, gabayan, at protektahan ang mga adolescent mothers at kanilang pamilya sa pamamagitan ng psychosocial support at life skills training.

The Commission on Population and Development (CPD) celebrates with the bright Filipino youth during the 9th Philippine National Children’s Conference (PNCC) of the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC). With the theme “Partisipasyon at Edukasyong Patas, Pundasyon ng Ligtas at Makabatang Bukas,” young people from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao interacted with the CPD regarding its strategies for adolescent health and development at its booth in the conference.

CPD continues to value avenues that promote the health and wellbeing of our young people. We remain committed in protecting and hearing the voices of these young Filipinos – dahil ang Kabataan ang Puso ng Pag-unlad!
