A. Alcantara, Assistant Secretary for Licensing and Adjudication, kasama sina Atty. Romelson E. Abbang at Atty.

Throughout February 2026, the Department of Migrant WorkersโNational Capital Region (DMWโNCR) strengthened its Anti-Illegal Recruitment and Trafficking in Persons (AIRTIP) Campaign through the conduct of Labor Education for Graduating Students (LEGS) sessions in various schools, colleges, and universities across the National Capital Region (NCR), particularly in the cities of Muntinlupa and Malabon.
These information sessions form part of DMWโNCRโs continuing efforts to prevent illegal recruitment and human trafficking by educating soon-to-be graduates before they enter the workforce. Through the LEGS Program, students are equipped with essential knowledge on safe migration practices, recognizing recruitment red flags, and accessing legitimate government services.
As part of this February 2026 rollout, LEGS sessions were conducted on the following dates:
February 11 - Tunasan National High School (Muntinlupa)
City of Malabon Polytechnic Institute (Malabon)
February 12 - Our Lady of the Lake School (Muntinlupa)
February 13 - Muntinlupa Science High School (Muntinlupa)
February 19 - Muntinlupa National High School (Muntinlupa)
The activity aimed to raise awareness among graduating students about the risks and consequences of illegal recruitment and human trafficking, while empowering them with accurate information on overseas employment processes and the programs and services offered by DMW.
The DMW-NCR will continue to disseminate information through this initiative to more schools across different LGUs in the coming months in order to further strengthen awareness, prevent illegal recruitment and human trafficking, and protect the welfare of aspiring overseas Filipino workers.
