At the Mandaue City Youth Development Office, leadership is not just about taking charge — it is about coming together, rising above differences, and standing for a shared cause: the youth.

From May 18–19, 2026, at Cordova Home Village Resort, the Leadership and Governance Journey (LAG) gathered the Youth LGU Project Management Team in a transformative space where individuality became strength, and diversity became unity.

𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟭: 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗗𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗟𝗢𝗣𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧
The team ignited the spirit of synergy by building a powerful Full Value Contract — a commitment that despite differences in beliefs, backgrounds, and perspectives, we move forward as one force for youth empowerment and civic engagement. Because meaningful change begins when unity is chosen over division.

𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟮: 𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗗𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣
The team embraced the essence of Bridging Leadership — leadership that listens deeply, connects boldly, and acts collectively. A bridging leader does not stand alone; they build bridges between people, ideas, and communities, turning gaps into pathways for inclusive progress.

Through this shared journey, the team:
• Strengthened their understanding of leadership that unites, not divides
• Discovered their collective voice and aspiration as stewards of youth development
• Committed to co-creating solutions that truly matter

This is more than a training.
This is a movement — a call to lead with purpose, serve with integrity, and uplift every Mandauehanon youth.

For five (5) days, aspiring scholars from different barangays, backgrounds, and life experiences took their step forward through the 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐮𝐞 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦.

Behind every interview was a story of perseverance, sacrifice, dreams, and hope for a better future through education. While each applicant carried a different journey, they all shared one common goal — to pursue their studies and create a brighter future for themselves, their families, and the community.

The College Scholarship Grant and Advisory Board (CSGAB), through the Mandaue City Youth Development Office (MCYDO), extends its appreciation to all applicants who showed courage and determination throughout the process, as well as to the panel interviewers and everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of the 5-day panel interview.

The Mandaue City Youth Development Office successfully conducted the 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗣 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗘𝗡𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗨𝗘 𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗠: 𝗔 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶-𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

The activity gathered education partners, stakeholders, existing scholars, representatives from various government institutions and LGU offices to collaboratively assess and strengthen the current scholarship policies of the City Government of Mandaue.

Among the attendees were representatives from Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region VII, Department of Education – Mandaue City Division, and partner academic institutions such as University of San Carlos, Cebu Technological University, Cebu Normal University, and University of Cebu, among others.

Also present during the workshop were Councilor Atty. Joel Seno, Vice Chairperson of the College Scholarship Grant Advisory Board (CSGAB) and Chairperson on the Committee on Education, together with Atty. Gonzalo D. Malig-on, Jr., City Administrator.

The consultative workshop aims to revisit and evaluate the existing scholarship ordinance and related policies to determine their continued responsiveness and relevance to the current needs and realities of Mandauehanon students. Through collaborative discussions and policy recommendations from key stakeholders, the initiative seeks to craft a more comprehensive, inclusive, and responsive scholarship program for the youth of Mandaue City.
