As part of the highlights of the Mandaue City Charter Anniversary Celebration, the 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁-𝗨𝗽 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 – 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁-𝗨𝗽 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 successfully brought together aspiring innovators and entrepreneurs in a dynamic showcase of ideas that define the city’s growing innovation ecosystem.

Now on its second year, the summit was organized by the Mandaue Investment Promotions and Tourism Action Center (MIPTAC) in partnership with the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) and various national agencies, with the goal of nurturing start-ups and providing them access to exposure, mentorship, and collaboration opportunities.

Mayor Thadeo Jovito S. Ouano, represented by Councilor Fritz B. Villamor, Chairperson of the Committee on Information and Communication Technology, reaffirmed the city’s unwavering support for initiatives that fuel entrepreneurship and inclusive growth. Also gracing the event was Hon. Marie Immaline Cortes-Zafra, Chairperson of the Committee on Trade and Industry, who lauded Mandaue’s innovative spirit and the city’s collective efforts in building a thriving business environment.

The competition featured an impressive lineup of prototypes evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges:

Among the standout entries, three innovative start-ups emerged as top winners:
🏆 First Place – 𝑪𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝑮𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒆: an information technology solution that allows users to customize decorated cakes online and instantly receive price quotations through a web and mobile app.
🥈 Second Place – 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕 𝑪𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒍: an online sports management platform providing sports data, player profiles, livestreaming, and more to support leagues and athletes.
🥉 Third Place – 𝑯𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒊 𝑻𝑴𝑺: an online transport management system tailored for the shipping industry, designed to streamline logistics and operations.

“Through this summit, we continue to empower innovators and start-ups who are not just creating products, but shaping solutions that make life better for communities,” said MIPTAC Executive Director Kristian Marc Cabahug. He emphasized that the city’s partnership with MCCI and other agencies is part of Mandaue’s long-term vision to position itself as an innovation-driven and business-friendly city.
