😱😱😱
Welcome to the academic Hunger Games.
This is what China's art school entrance exams actually look like - thousands of students crammed into massive venues, all drawing the exact same still life for hours on end. The China Academy of Art gets 80,000 applicants and accepts 1,600. The Central Academy of Fine Arts? 40,000+ applicants, maybe 800 get in.
These kids spend years training for this moment. They travel to major cities, sit for 6-12 hours of exams, and draw identical setups from photographs. No personal style allowed - just technical perfection under soul-crushing pressure.
The judges get locked in secret hotel locations without phones until grading is done. Artworks are flown around in suitcases with numbers instead of names. It's more like a military operation than an art evaluation.
One graduate called it "an unforgettable experience I don't want to participate in again." The brutal irony? They're testing creativity through the most standardized, creativity-killing process imaginable.
Some students are just saying "screw this" and going abroad instead. Can't blame them.
