MCPO personnel of different offices and stations watched the live coverage of PNP-Human Rights Affairs Office in celebration of 16th PNP-HRAO Founding Anniversary with theme of: “Makatao at Marangal na Serbisyo Publiko, handog sa Mamamayang Pilipino” with Chief PNP PGEN BENJAMIN C ACORDA, JR 2 at Multi Purpose Center, Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City on July 4, 2023.

The Station Commander and Custodial Officer of Police Stations 1 and 2 of this unit attended the symposium presided over by Atty. Arvin A. Odron, Regional Director, Commission on Human Rights 7, on the Prevention of Torture and Other Cruel, Inhumane, or Degrading Treatment or Punishment in Places of Detention, held this morning at Castle Peak Hotel, F. Cabahug St., Cebu City, hosted by the CHR 7.

PLT GERMAN BARTE SOROÑO talked about Human Rights-Based Policing as an invited Guest Speaker of the 2-days Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team Training at 6.5 Housing, Barangay Paknaan, facilitated by Mandaue City Police Office. The said activity participated by the Barangay Tanods of each barangay in Mandaue City.

PLT GERMAN BARTE SOROÑO, CPHRO, MCPO, facilitated the conduct of the Human Rights Basic Concept and Principle Lecture that was attended by the Newly Assigned Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs) of this City Police Office who are undergoing orientation to the different offices. Moreover, the speaker reminded the participants of the importance of respecting and protecting the rights of every citizen.

Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) Human Rights Affairs Officer, PLT GERRY BARTE SOROÑO, discussed about Human Rights-Based Policing via Zoom online platform with the PNP personnel who are currently undergoing their Criminal Investigators Course (CIC) facilitated by Regional Investigation and Detection Management Division (RIDMD7).

Police Regional Office 7 heightened its alert status which started on April 28, 2023, to maintain the peace and order of Philippines Labor Day on May 1, 2023. Security measures are in place.

In a statement, PBGEN ANTHONY ABELLADA ABERIN, PRO7 Regional Director emphasized that PRO7 recognizes the freedom of the labor groups to exercise their rights so long as there will be no violations of law otherwise, police interventions will take place.
