MC-TIPC SPORTSFEST 2025 AWARDING CEREMONY AND SABADO NIGHTS
The Mandaue City Tripartite Industrial Peace Council culminated its 3 Sundays Sportsfest with an Awarding Ceremony last 28 June 2025 at the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex.
San Miguel was adjudged the over-all champion, while Profood International and Coca Cola came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
After the awarding ceremony, the participating companies had a potluck and partied the MC-TIPC way thru the Sabado Nights.
Assistant Regional Director Emmanuel Ferrer and Councilor Marie Immaline Cortes-Zafra graced the event.

SCENES FROM THE OPENING OF THE MANDAUE CITY TRIPARTITE INDUSTRIAL PEACE COUNCIL SPORTSFEST 2025
The MC-TIPC Annual Sportsfest officially opened on 1 June 2025, Sunday, at the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex. A total of 12 teams participated in the opening ceremony.
DOLE Regional Director Roy L. Buenafe, Councilor Marie Immaline Cortes-Zafra, and MC-TIPC BOTs graced the event.
Giardini del Sole bagged the Best in Uniform Award while LGU Mandaue and GSMI received the Best Muse and Es**rt Awards, respectively.
Profood International, Inc. snatched the Best in Cheerdance, while San Miguel and Giardini del Sole came in 2nd and 3rd.
The MC-TIPC Sportsfest will run during the 3 Sundays of June (June 8 and 15). Sporting events include Bowling, Billiards, Archery, Volleyball, Dayon Dayon, Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess, Dama, and Darts. The first 3 events were done at the SM BowlingPlex last 18 May 2025.
The culminating and awarding ceremony will be held on 28 June 2025 during the Sabado Nights.

MC-TIPC 1ST GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING & LEARNING SESSION
The Mandaue City Tripartite Industrial Peace Council held its 1st General Membership Meeting and Learning Session on 27 March 2025 at the Fairfield by Marriott, Mandaue City.
Councilor Marie Immaline Cortes-Zafra, the Vice Chairperson for the Government Sector, welcomed the participants who are representatives from the different companies in Mandaue City.
Senior Labor and Employment Officer Jesus Macbeth Montecillo of the DOLE VII discussed on “Comprehensive Employer’s Guide to Effective Preparation for Labor Inspection”. The topic is DOLE’s proactive approach in assisting companies comply with labor standards benefits and occupational safety and health standards for the upcoming labor inspection.
Conciliator Mediator Mario Manuelito R. Say of the National Conciliation and Mediation Board VII shared his expertise on Plant-Level Conciliation Mediation. He emphasized that labor issues can be settled at the plant-level to avoid expenses concomitant to litigation.
The Mandaue City Tripartite Industrial Peace Council was established in 1997 to serve as a forum for discussion and ventilation of issues among representatives from the labor, management, and government sectors. Its primary objective is industrial peace in the business establishments in Mandaue, especially that the City is known as the “Industrial Capital of Cebu”. It takes pride as the best TIPC in the whole Philippines.

MC-TIPC COURTESY VISIT TO NEW DOLE VII REGIONAL DIRECTOR ROY BUENAFE
The Officers and Board of Trustees of the Mandaue City Tripartite Industrial Peace Council, led by Councilor Marie Immaline Cortes-Zafra, paid a courtesy visit to Atty. Roy Buenafe, the new Regional Director of the Department of Labor and Employment VII.
During the said meeting, the MC-TIPC discussed with RD Roy its plans for 2025, foremost of which is the operation of its Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Center. RD Roy on the other hand communicated his direction for TIPC, most essential of which is the use of social dialogue to promote and further industrial peace.

‼️MC-TIPC MEDICAL MISSION‼️
The Mandaue City Tripartite Industrial Peace Council conducted a Medical Mission at Sitio Law-o, Barangay Basak, Mandaue City last 7 December 2024. The activity is in cooperation with the Gullas School of Medicine and the Mandaue City Health Office.
The outreach program was led by Councilor Marie Immaline Cortes-Zafra, the Vice Chairperson of MC-TIPC for the Government Sector. BOTs and employees from San Miguel Brewery Inc., Clear Export, and Profood International Corp. also generously shared their time during the outreach program.
Sitio Law-o was chosen as beneficiary because of its distance from the city center, making it difficult for its residents to access the services provided by the City Health Office. More than a hundred individuals were served during the said mission.
Before the activity ended, the residents of Sitio Law-o surprised Councilor Maline with a birthday cake.
The MC-TIPC endeavors to conduct more medical missions in 2025, hopefully doubling the number of beneficiaries.

The Mandaue City Tripartite Industrial Peace Council held its 4th General Membership Meeting on 6 December 2024 at the Bai Hotel Cebu.
Councilor Marie Immaline Cortes -Zafra, the Vice Chairperson for the Government Sector, led the program.
Ms. Mia Carmela M. Cuenco discussed about Gen Z Engagement and Retention Stategies, Flexible Working Arrangements, and Artificial Intelligence.
Ms. Arnie June Ducante of the Department of Labor and Employment VII shared about DOLE’s Adjustment Measure Program.
Aside from representatives from the labor and management sectors, graduating students of Mandaue City College’s HR Program joined the event.
After the lectures, the members shared light moments over dinner and enjoyed some games and raffles in the spirit of Christmas.
