In the “Safest Cities to Visit in 2026 – Philippines” ranking, Mandaue City placed 14th nationwide with a score of 67.85% —outperforming neighboring Lapu-Lapu City (17th, 62.45%) and Cebu City (26th, 53.15%).

This makes Mandaue the top-ranked city among the tri-cities in terms of safety.

This achievement comes under the leadership of Jonkie Ouano, whose administration has prioritized peace, order, and public safety as key pillars of governance.

The recognition also reflects the relentless dedication and hard work of the Mandaue City Police Office and its personnel, whose efforts continue to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.

According to WTI, cities with higher rankings and scores offer better safety conditions, making them more attractive to both local and international travelers.

The rankings are based on key factors such as crime rates, public security, infrastructure, and overall visitor experience.

In politics, loyalty is often measured by who you stood with yesterday. But leadership—real leadership—is measured by who you choose to stand for today.

Sa dihang gi-allow ni Mayor Jonkie Ouano ang disbursement sa honoraria sa mga Purok Development Office (PDO) Job Order (JO) personnel, dili lang ni ordinary administrative act—it was a quiet disruption of the usual script.

Kay let’s be honest, the traditional and easier path would have been to let silence do the work. To let technicalities, politics, or affiliations decide who gets what they already earned. Human nature, especially in politics, would have justified withholding it.

Pero lahi ang nahitabo.

Despite the lines drawn during the last elections, despite the colors people wore, giila gihapon ang trabaho. Giila ang serbisyo. Giila nga ang honoraria dili na pabor —it was earned. That decision spoke louder than any campaign promise. It said governance is not about settling scores, but settling obligations.
