'WE ARE LIFTING THE PRICE CAPS'

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos announced that he has lifted the price ceilings the government imposed on rice today, October 4, 2023.

Executive Order (EO) 39, which was implemented last September 5, 2023, set the price cap on regular milled rice at P41 per kilogram and that of well-milled rice at P45 per kilogram.

"Tinatanggal na natin yung mga control. Pero hindi ibig sabihin basta't ganun na lang dahlil kailangan pa rin natin ayusin ang agricultural sector, kailangan pa rin natin tulungan and mga pinakamahirap, pinakagutom na para kahit papaano makaahon sila," he said in a statement.
