𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | Under the supervision of the Base Commander, Captain Jimmy Oliver P Vingno PCG, personnel of Coast Guard Base Farola and its tenant units actively participated in the First Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on 12 March 2026.

The sounding of a long siren signaled the start of the drill, prompting personnel to immediately perform the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure before safely exiting their respective offices and proceeding to the designated evacuation area.

The activity aimed to assess the readiness and preparedness of personnel, ensuring their ability to make appropriate decisions to safeguard themselves during an earthquake.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | The Coast Guard Base Farola Commander, Captain Jimmy Oliver P Vingno PCG, rendered arrival honors and welcomed the newly promoted officer, Rear Admiral Oliver S Tanseco PCG, Inspector General, Coast Guard Inspector General and Internal Affairs Service, as he arrived at Coast Guard Base Farola yesterday, 11 March 2026.

The ceremony was honored by the presence of Vice Admiral Hostillo Arturo E Cornelio PCG, Deputy Commandant for Administration, who served as the Guest of Honor and added distinction to the event.

Also present during the ceremony were the Commanders of the Coast Guard Base Farola Tenant Units, senior officers, enlisted personnel, as well as family members and friends who gathered to witness this meaningful event.

The ceremony showcased unity, respect, and unwavering support for the leadership of Rear Admiral Oliver S Tanseco PCG. It also highlighted the dedication and professionalism of the Office of the Coast Guard Inspector General and Internal Affairs Service in maintaining the highest standards of integrity and public service.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Coast Guard Base Farola Commander, Captain Jimmy Oliver P Vingno PCG, warmly received and rendered a salute to the newly promoted officer, Vice Admiral Tito Alvin G Andal PCG, Commander, Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command (CGETDC), upon his arrival at Coast Guard Base Farola yesterday, 10 March 2026.

Arrival honors were rendered to welcome Vice Admiral Andal as he set foot at Coast Guard Base Farola.

The ceremony was attended by the Commanders of Coast Guard Base Farola Tenant Units, together with Senior Officers and Enlisted personnel of the base.

In his message, Vice Admiral Andal expressed his heartfelt appreciation to his family and loved ones who have been his constant source of strength and inspiration. He also conveyed his sincere gratitude to the CGETDC Family, noting that his designation as Commander of CGETDC marks a significant milestone in his career as a Philippine Coast Guard officer.

A recognition ceremony followed at the CGETDC headquarters, highlighting Vice Admiral Andal’s unwavering commitment, exemplary leadership, and remarkable service to the Philippine Coast Guard—qualities that truly reflect his well-deserved promotion.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: In connection with the annual celebration of the National Women’s Month, female personnel of Coast Guard Base Farola and its Tenant Units proudly led the Monday Morning Colors Ceremony at Coast Guard Base Farola, Muelle Dela Industria Binondo Compound, today, 02 March 2026.

The 2026 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC), spearheaded nationwide by the Philippine Commission on Women, carries the empowering theme:

“𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝑳𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒚𝒍𝒂𝒏, 𝑭𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒔!”

This year’s theme highlights the powerful legacy of the Babaylan—pre-colonial Filipina leaders who were healers, warriors, spiritual guides, and respected pillars of their communities. It emphasizes that leadership is deeply rooted in Filipino culture and that women have always been at the forefront of nation-building.

During the ceremony, Rear Admiral Tito Alvin G Andal PCG, Commander, Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command, delivered an inspiring message, drawing parallels between the Babaylans of old and the modern-day women of the Philippine Coast Guard.

To “Lead like the Babaylans” in our modern Coast Guard means:
-Leading with integrity in every action;
-Exercising wisdom in Command decisions;
-Demonstrating resilience in times of crisis;
-Protecting those under our charge;
-Inspiring others through competence and example

He emphasized that gender equality within our ranks is not merely a social aspiration—it is a strategic advantage. Diverse leadership strengthens decision-making. Inclusive environments build stronger morale. Fair opportunities enhance institutional credibility.

As he concluded, he left these powerful messages:

“To our women COAST GUARDIANS: continue to rise, continue to lead, continue to prove that strength and compassion can coexist in command. Your presence strengthens our service and inspires the next generation.”
