Isang katotohanan ang itinuturo sa atin ng paparating na Miyerkules ng Abo: “WALANG PERMANENTE SA MUNDO. Lahat tayo ay magbabalik sa alabok kung saan tayo nagmula.” 🙏

Ang Miyerkules ng Abo ay Araw ng Pag-aayuno (fasting) at Pangingilin (abstinence).

1. PAG-AAYUNO. Ito ay tumutukoy sa pagkain lamang ng isang beses sa isang araw o “one full meal.” Maaari din namang kumaen ng dalawang beses sa isang araw, basta’t ang katumbas nito ay “one full meal” lamang. Ito ay dapat gawin ng mga mananampalataya na may edad mula 18 hanggang 59 taong gulang. Maliban na lamang sa mga may sakit at karamdaman.

2. PANGINGILIN. Ito ang pag-iwas sa pagkain ng mga karne kagaya ng baboy, baka at manok. Ang isda ay maaaring kainin. Ito ay dapat gawin ng mga mananampalataya na may edad 14 taong gulang pataas. Maliban na lamang sa mga may sakit at karamdaman.
