𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙗𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖𝙣 𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙖, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙩, 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨, 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙡𝙮 𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚.

LAKAS N.G.O. began the same way. From conversations about the communities we hope to build and the impact we aspire to create, a shared vision slowly took shape. Along the way, we found individuals united by a common desire to serve, learn, and contribute to something greater than themselves.

Today, we move forward with gratitude for everyone who has become part of this journey. Every step has been shaped by collective effort, trust, and the belief that meaningful work is always stronger when done together.

There is still much to learn, much to build, and many stories yet to be written, but we move forward grounded in the people who inspire this mission and the communities that give it meaning.

At the heart of this journey is 𝗣𝗨𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗚 𝗠𝗔𝗬 𝗟𝗔𝗞𝗔𝗦, a heart rooted in strength, compassion, and service. The spirit that defines who we are and how we serve. From this identity flows our direction: "𝘽𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨, 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙀𝙭𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙩" through every step we take as an organization.

𝙆𝘼𝙈𝘼𝙇𝘼𝙔𝘼𝙉 2026

Last May 27 2026, LAKAS NGO joined fellow youth leaders and delegates at Kamalayan III: Makilahok, Makialam, Magtagumpay — Atin ang Bukas! Leadership Conference 2026 held at the One Cainta Auditorium and organized by Angat Taytay.

The conference became a meaningful space for dialogue, reflection, and collective action as different speakers and advocates shared insights on transparency, accountability, citizen participation, empowerment, and sustainable governance. Discussions highlighted the importance of public trust, ethical leadership, and active civic engagement in shaping communities grounded in genuine service.

Among the keynote speakers were Mayor Benjamin Magalong, who emphasized the essence of building public trust through open governance; Atty. Diego Luis Santiago of DEPDev, who discussed the ethical and sustainable use of innovation in local governance; Rep. Sarah Elago of Gabriela Women’s Party, who underscored the importance of public office as a platform for genuine service, accountability, and people-centered leadership; and Mr. Justin Altubar of GoodGovPH, who highlighted the importance of citizen participation and empowerment amid growing public skepticism in Philippine politics.

More than a conference, Kamalayan 2026 served as a reminder that the youth are not merely witnesses to change, but active participants in building a future rooted in integrity, compassion, and collective responsibility.

They live in small sacrifices no one really sees, in staying after everyone has left, in listening even when you are exhausted, in choosing to care in a world that often teaches people not to.

This is the heart of LAKAS.

What began as a shared belief among young people continues to grow into something larger than ourselves. Not simply a new chapter, but a deeper understanding of why we do this in the first place: to walk with people, to create spaces where they feel seen, heard, and remembered.

As new leaders step forward, LAKAS moves with a wider purpose and a steadier heart. Carrying not only new visions, but the same commitment that built this organization from the very beginning, that service should always remain rooted in people. For the people. With the people.

Maybe that is what growth truly means, not becoming bigger for the sake of being seen, but becoming wide enough to hold more people, more stories, and more hope.

Isang malaking pagpupugay para sa lahat ng mga manggagawang Pilipino na walang sawang lumalaban sa hamon ng buhay. Ang inyong dedikasyon at husay ang nagpapatakbo sa ating lipunan, at nararapat lamang na bigyang-halaga ang inyong kontribusyon hindi lang ngayong Mayo Uno, kundi sa bawat araw.

Saludo kami sa inyong determinasyong itaguyod ang inyong mga pangarap sa kabila ng anumang pagsubok.

Patuloy tayong manindigan para sa dignidad ng paggawa at sa sapat na suporta para sa lahat ng sektor. Karapatan ng bawat isa ang mamuhay nang may sapat na ginhawa at seguridad mula sa bunga ng kanilang sariling hirap.

From the laughter shared over a festive meal to the bright colors of spring beginning to bloom, there is a collective spirit of gratitude in the air. May this day be filled with peace, a renewed sense of purpose, and the warmth of community as we welcome a fresh start and the many blessings that come with this season of life.

Whether spent in quiet prayer or surrounded by the joyous energy of loved ones, today is about celebrating the ultimate promise of grace and the light that guides us through even the darkest of seasons.

While the day carries a heavy sense of mourning, it also serves as a powerful reminder of resilience and the promise of renewal. It teaches us that the darkness is not an end, but a necessary passage toward light.
