Representing Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, Fernandez became the first Philippine National Games participant who now has five golds on her belt.
Quendy topped the Womenβs 50m, 100m, and 200m backstroke, 50m butterfly, and 200m medley relay of the swimming competitions held in Philsports Swimming Pool in Pasig City.
These victories proved that her prowess can be at the pinnacle of a national multi-sporting event with her Most Valuable Player and Rookie of the Year citations in the University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 86 under the University of the Philippines.
