On April 9, 1942, Bataan fell but the spirit of its defenders never did. Today, we remember the bravery and sacrifice of Filipino heroes who stood their ground during World War II. Their courage became a symbol of resilience and love for country.

In celebration of Women’s Month, PUP CommSoc gathered voices from women in the community to share their experiences and reflections as a woman. Their stories echo the Babylan spirit that was rooted in ancestral wisdom, strength, and unity towards a more inclusive society.

Walang lugar sa tahanan ang magkakahon sa kababaihan. ✊🏻💜
For a long time, women have been told where they belong. “Para ka lang sa kusina, taga-luto para sa pamilya.” But neither a home nor a kitchen should stop their becoming.
From this month and beyond, as long as women are told what they should be, we protest and we shatter the cage that tries to define them. Because women are never meant to fit inside the box that the patriarchy created for them.
