Acwa Power Philippines, a subsidiary of Acwa Power Company, signed a contract of lease with the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) for a 500-hectare site in New Clark City (NCC).

Witnessed by Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go, the signing paves the way for the development of a 500-MW solar photovoltaic and battery energy storage system (PV-BESS) facility within the NCC Special Economic Zone. Delivering the keynote message on Secretary Go's behalf, Undersecretary Ma. Angela E. As BCDA’s anchor power locator in NCC, the facility is envisioned to provide clean, reliable, and round-the-clock power to support data centers, advanced manufacturing and other technology-driven industries, while advancing the government's target of increasing renewable energy's share in the national power mix to 35 percent by 2030.
