71ST MARINE BATTALION RESERVE AT THE READY | 09 May 2026
On this day, the 71st Marine Battalion Reserve, formerly the 72nd Marine Battalion Reserve, headed by its Battalion Commander, MAJ VIRGILIO LEONCIO B LOMOTAN PN(M)(RES), conducted its first Capability Demonstration during the Presentation of Sponsors with its Guest of Honor and Speaker, COL VENUS G GUALDAQUEVER PN(M)(GSC) with the Commandant, 246th Naval ROTC - Adamson University Unit, COL HILARIO C DE VERA JR PN(M)(GSC) at Adamson University, San Marcelino, Ermita, Manila.
The battalion showed its capability and readiness by demonstrating its personnel's skills in martial arts, warfighting, and rappelling, conforming with the mission of the Naval Reserve Command, Naval Reserve Center - National Capital Region, Philippine Marine Corps, and as a whole, the AFP Organization. Under the leadership of the battalion commander and its staff, the unit's cohesiveness, efficiency, and effectiveness improves every single reporting day.
The martial arts was led by 1LT LEOPOLDO C LASALETA JR PN(M)(RES), warfighting by 2LT ANGELO M ANTONIO PN(M)(RES) with the Sergeant Major of the Battalion, MSgt Rodel M Sicapore PN(M)(Res), and the rappeling by the Gunnery Sergeant, TSgt Roberto M Sicapore PN(M)(Res) and other Non-Commissioned Officers.
With the guidance of the staff of the Battalion and Higher Command, it will continue to guide and train its personnel to be capable and ready at moment's notice when the call to duty arrives.

JOINT ASSEMBLY TEST 2026 | 09 May 2026
On this day, the personnel of the 71st Marine Battalion Reserve, formerly the 72nd Marine Battalion Reserve, headed by its Battalion Commander, MAJ VIRGILIO LEONCIO B LOMOTAN PN(M)(RES), attended the Joint Assembly Test of the 7th Marine Brigade Reserve and Naval Forces Reserve - National Capital Region hosted by the Naval Reserve Center - National Capital Region with COL HILARIO C DE VERA JR PN(M)(GSC) as its Guest of Honor and Speaker at Bonifacio Naval Station Grandstand, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
Personnel of both reserve units were accounted first during formation and after, the singing of the National Anthem. The invocation was led by the Chief Master-at-Arms, CPO Lemuel M Jimenez PN and after, the opening remarks by the Commander, Naval Reserve Center- National Capital Region, CDR ANECITO B LUMANTAS PN(GSC). After that, the troops of each reserve units were presented to the Commander, Naval Reserve Center - National Capital Region, by the Commander, 7th Marine Brigade Reserve, BGEN ROBERTO EMMANUEL T FELICIANO PN(M)(MNSA)(RES) and the Officer-in-Charge, Naval Reserve Force - National Capital Region, CAPT MEDARDO C DEACOSTA JR PN(MNSA)(RES). BGEN FELICIANO PN(M)(MNSA)(RES) introduced the Guest of Honor and Speaker, COL DE VERA JR PN(M), to the troops and gave his speech.
After the speech by the GOHAS, the singing of the Philippine Navy Reserve Hymn was sang followed by the Philippine Navy Hymn. A photo opportunity was done after the closing remarks of the Assembly Test.

ACTIVATION/DEACTIVATION DAY | 19 April 2026
On this day, 19 April 2026, the 71st Marine Battalion Reserve, formerly the 72nd Marine Battalion Reserve, has officially been activated by order of Higher Command held at Naval Reserve Center - National Capital Region, Intramuros, Manila City.
By order of Higher Command, several sub - units of the 7th Marine Brigade Reserve and Naval Forces Reserve - National Capital Region has been deactivated while new sub - units had been activated. Also, designation orders were announced and read to its personnel. The Commander of the Naval Reserve Center - National Capital Region, CDR ANECITO B LUMANTAS PN(GSC), graced the event and delivered a message to the participants on the said day.
Present on this event was the 7th Marine Brigade Reserve's Commanding Officer, BGEN ROBERTO EMMANUEL T FELICIANO PN(M)(RES), the Brigade Staff, each of the Brigade's Battalion Commanders as well as its Non-Commissioned Officers and Enlisted Personnel.
