COPS SHOWS HONESTY AND HEROISM IN ACTION
Following the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr to uphold integrity, professionalism, and public service, the PNP once again demonstrated its commitment to integrity and public service through two separate acts of honesty and heroism.
A social media post praised Patrolwoman Sunshine Cariaga of the Eastern Police District–District Mobile Force Battalion for returning ₱30,000 that had been mistakenly sent to her GCash account. The money belonged to an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who had intended to send it to family but accidentally entered the wrong number.
Despite her GCash app being uninstalled, Patrolwoman Cariaga promptly reinstalled it, verified the transaction, and returned the full amount the following morning—politely declining the token of gratitude offered to her.
In a separate incident, the same vigilance and dedication were evident when Lingayen Municipal Police Station successfully rescued a four-day-old infant who had been abducted from Lingayen District Hospital. The suspect, disguised as a nurse, deceived the baby’s mother into handing over the child. Coordinated efforts among the baby’s family, local residents, and police led to the safe recovery of the infant in Binmaley, Pangasinan, and the arrest of the suspect.
Acting Chief PNP PLTGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. commended both acts, saying, “I commend Patrolwoman Cariaga and all personnel involved in the swift rescue of the infant. These incidents show that true heroism comes in many forms—whether through honesty in everyday actions or courage in critical moments. Our personnel continue to serve with integrity, professionalism, and compassion, protecting the Filipino people and earning their trust every day.”
Chief PIO and PNP Spokesperson PBGEN Randulf T. Tuaño added:
“Stories like these remind us why we serve. Each time an officer chooses what is right, no matter how ordinary or risky it seems, it strengthens the bond between the police and the community. May this inspire every member of the PNP to keep leading with integrity and heart.”
These cases affirm that heroism often comes quietly yet leaves a lasting impact. They are not isolated incidents but living proof of the high standards of integrity and service that the PNP strives to uphold every single day for the Filipino people.

PNP NETS 13 MOST WANTED; ₱16.7-MILLION DRUGS SEIZED IN TWO-DAY NATIONWIDE OPERATIONS
Acting under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the Philippine National Police (PNP) maintained a full-alert posture for the September 21 anti-corruption rally while simultaneously mounting back-to-back law-enforcement operations that led to the arrest of thirteen (13) Most Wanted Persons and the confiscation of more than ₱16.7 million worth of illegal drugs in just two days.
From Luzon to Mindanao, PNP units carried out coordinated actions on 19 and 20 September 2025, demonstrating that intensified crime suppression can proceed without disrupting public-safety duties during major civic gatherings.
On September 19, police units captured 13 most wanted individuals during coordinated operations across several provinces, many of them carrying warrants with no bail recommended.
Key anti-drug operations the same day yielded approximately ₱5.3 million in illegal substances, highlighted by the rescue of a 17-year-old minor and the seizure of 160 grams of shabu worth ₱1.08 million in Iloilo City, and the destruction of 21,000 fully grown ma*****na plants valued at ₱4.2 million in Kalinga.

Hours earlier in Aparri, Cagayan, another high-impact operation netted another high value drug suspect and more than 1.15 kilos of shabu valued at ₱7.86 million.

Even on full alert for the September 21 rally, our personnel have remained vigilant in protecting our communities,” said Acting Chief PNP Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. “President Marcos Jr.’s directive is clear: safeguard the nation on every front.”
PNP Spokesperson Police Brigadier General Randulf T. Tuaño added, “These only show that public safety does not pause. In just two days, we seized millions worth of illegal drugs and arrested several most wanted persons, proving that the PNP can secure major events and still protect every barangay.”
