👩‍🔬 Paldo nga ba ang mga DOST Scholars? 💸📝

Isa sa mga kilalang programa ng DOST ang pagbibigay ng scholarships sa mga kabataang gustong tumahak sa larangan ng agham at teknolohiya. Ano-ano ang mga scholarship na ito? Paano makapag-apply? At ano-ano ang mga benepisyong natatanggap ng isang DOST Scholar?

Ano ang lagay ng panahon sa Oriental Mindoro ngayong Hunyo?

Batay sa isinagawang pagsusuri ng DOST-SARAI MIMAROPA Team gamit ang datos ng klima at satellite, inaasahang mas mainit kaysa karaniwan ang mararanasan sa maraming bahagi ng Oriental Mindoro ngayong Hunyo 2026. Bagama't inaasahang magkakaroon pa rin ng ulan na halos katulad ng karaniwang natatanggap ng lalawigan, ang mataas na temperatura ay maaaring magdulot ng pagkatuyo ng lupa at makaapekto sa paglago at ani ng mga pananim.

📍 Karamihan sa mga bayan sa Oriental Mindoro ay inaasahang makararanas ng mainit na panahon, habang ang mga bayan ng Baco at San Teodoro ay maaaring makaranas ng mas matinding init kumpara sa ibang lugar sa lalawigan. Samantala, ang Lungsod ng Calapan ay inaasahang makakaranas ng bahagyang mas mainit na kondisyon.

⚠️ Bagama't hindi pa inaasahan ang matinding kakulangan sa ulan, ang patuloy na mataas na temperatura ay maaaring magpababa ng halumigmig ng lupa at magdulot ng stress sa mga pananim. Ipinapakita rin ng mga nakaraang tala na malaki ang naging epekto ng El Niño sa lalawigan. Noong 2016 at 2024, nakaranas ang Oriental Mindoro ng kakulangan sa ulan at tagtuyot na nakaapekto sa produksyon ng agrikultura at kabuhayan ng mga magsasaka.

🛰️ Ayon sa pagtataya, karamihan sa mga lugar sa Oriental Mindoro ay maaaring makaranas ng banayad na kondisyon ng tagtuyot, habang ang ilang bahagi sa timog ng lalawigan ay maaaring manatiling malapit sa karaniwang kondisyon ng panahon.

🌱 Ano ang dapat gawin ng mga magsasaka?
✅ Regular na bantayan ang kondisyon ng lupa at mga pananim.
✅ Magtipid at mag-imbak ng tubig kung may mapagkukunan.
✅ Planuhin ang pagtatanim at pagdidilig ayon sa lagay ng panahon.
✅ Kumonsulta sa Municipal Agriculture Office para sa mga pinakabagong payo at rekomendasyon.

Who can apply?
✔ Incoming regular 3rd year college students enrolled in a DOST-SEI priority S&T course
✔ Must have a GWA of at least 83% (or its equivalent) with no failing or conditional grades from 1st Year of the 1st Semester to 2nd Year of the 1st Semester, including any midyear terms.
✔ Must be a natural-born Filipino citizen.
✔ Must be of good moral character and in good health.
✔ Should not have previously availed of any DOST-SEI scholarship. (Applicants who applied before but didn’t qualify or didn’t avail themselves of the award may still apply.)
