OrMin PCDO, MinSU College of Computer Studies Join Forces to Strengthen Digital Skills of PCDO-Assisted Organizations
CALAPAN CITY, ORIENTAL MINDORO — The Oriental Mindoro Provincial Cooperative Development Office (OrMin PCDO) and the Mindoro State University (MinSU) College of Computer Studies are jointly conducting today, August 28, 2026, the two-day “Computer Literacy and Documentation Training for PCDO-Assisted Organizations: Strengthening Organizational Documentation, Records Management and System Automation” at the MinSU Calapan City Campus – Computer Laboratory.
The training aims to strengthen the digital competencies of officers, secretaries, and representatives of PCDO-assisted organizations through practical learning in computer literacy, organizational documentation, records management, and system automation.
The initiative forms part of the continuing capacity-building efforts of the Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro under the leadership of Governor Humerlito “Bonz” A. Dolor, in partnership with MinSU, to strengthen the capabilities of cooperatives and other organizations assisted by the provincial government.
The collaboration also gains support from the leadership of Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol, SUC President III of Mindoro State University, as the university continues to bring its academic and technical expertise to programs that benefit partner organizations and communities.
The MinSU College of Computer Studies serves as the academic and technical partner in the training, providing the computer laboratory facilities and technical learning environment for the hands-on activities.
According to Orlando B. Tizon, PGDH of OrMin PCDO, digital competency has become an essential component of effective organizational management.
“In today’s digital environment, it is no longer enough to simply know how to prepare documents. It is equally important to know how to properly organize, record, preserve, and utilize technology to make our operations faster and more efficient.”
Tizon further emphasized the importance of the partnership between the government and the academe in providing relevant and practical digital skills to organizations.
“Through this training, we want to equip our PCDO-assisted organizations with the ability to use digital tools as instruments for better management and organizational development.”
The two-day training features lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on laboratory activities designed to enhance participants’ ability to prepare, organize, manage, and preserve organizational documents and records using digital tools.
The activity will continue until August 29, 2026, with OrMin PCDO and the MinSU College of Computer Studies working toward a shared goal of developing more digitally capable, organized, efficient, and responsive organizations in Oriental Mindoro.
The partnership underscores the importance of government-academe collaboration in advancing digital literacy and organizational capacity, bringing together the development programs of the provincial government and the academic and technical expertise of MinSU for the continuing development of PCDO-assisted organizations.
