๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ โ The 89th Infantry (Makatao) Battalion conducted a joint turnover ceremony for key command and staff positions on October 2, 2026, at Headquarters 89IB, Purok 10, Barangay South Poblacion, Maramag, Bukidnon.
Presided over by Lieutenant Colonel Antonio G Bulao I, Commanding Officer, the ceremony formally transferred leadership responsibilities at the Battalion Headquarters and Alpha Company, ensuring the orderly transition of authority, accountability, and unit functions.
First Lieutenant Quency D Macatantan assumed as the new Headquarters Commandant, succeeding Captain Jomar D Endagoy. Meanwhile, First Lieutenant Emmanuel F Carido assumed as the new Alpha Company Commander, succeeding First Lieutenant John Andrew S Gloriani.
In his message, Lt. Col. Bulao reminded the incoming leaders to take full responsibility for their respective positions, uphold discipline, prioritize the welfare of their personnel, and remain focused on mission accomplishment. โLeadership is not merely about assuming a position; it is about taking responsibility, taking care of your people, and making sure the mission continues regardless of who occupies the position,โ he said.
The turnover marked the continuation of leadership responsibilities as the incoming officers take on their respective roles and build on the work of their predecessors. The transition also ensures that administrative, operational, and support functions remain responsive to the battalionโs mission requirements.
With the new leadership in place, the battalion continues to maintain unity of effort across its headquarters and line companies, supporting the sustained delivery of peace, security, and community-oriented services within its area of operations.
