September 29, 2026, Regional Technical Working Group (RTWG) Critiquing

The Matanao Upland Farmers Cluster presented its 5-Year Cluster Development Plan (CDP) during the Regional Technical Working Group (RTWG) critiquing, with Mr. Eustaquio C. Pasalo Jr., Cluster President, leading the presentation.

The CDP serves as a roadmap for the sustainable development and growth of the Matanao Upland Farmers Cluster, particularly in strengthening the corn commodity as a key agricultural enterprise. It brings together the goals, strategies, interventions, and priority activities of the 13 Farmers’ Cooperatives and Associations (FCAs) toward increased productivity, improved farm management, reduced post-harvest losses, and better market opportunities for corn farmers.

Through this 5-year plan, the cluster aims to transform collective plans into concrete actions, empowering farmers, improving corn production, and building a more resilient and competitive corn industry in Matanao.

One Cluster. One Plan. One Direction. A Stronger Future for Matanao Corn Farmers.

🥭 MANGO-VERLOAD OF OPPORTUNITIES! KUGI in Action

As part of KUGI – Kaalam sa Uma, Gugma sa Kinaiyahan, one of the flagship programs of Mayor Irick Aldaba Agbon, the LGU-Matanao, through the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist (OMAg), conducted 2-day Skills Training on Mango Processing featuring the production of Mango Puree, Mango Jam, Mango Pickle, and Dried Mango.

The activity was conducted in partnership with the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg) and TESDA–Davao del Sur, which provided technical expertise and served as the resource agency for the training.

Through KUGI, we continue to equip our farmers, women, community members, and aspiring entrepreneurs with practical skills in food processing, value-adding, and agri-enterprise development—turning locally produced mangoes into quality products and sustainable livelihood opportunities. 🌱🥭
