One year ago, the ground beneath us moved, and in seconds, everything familiar became uncertain.

The 6.9-magnitude earthquake left families shaken, classrooms collapsed, and lives forever changed. But beyond the cracks in our campus corridors and the weakened walls, the tragedy revealed something stronger: the commitment and courage of a community that chose to rise, rebuild, and carry on.

We remember not only the devastation, the sleepless nights, and the fear that followed, but also the hands that helped, the voices that comforted, and the communities that refused to give up.

Today, as we mark the first anniversary of that harrowing night, The Harvest remembers.

We honor the despair, the loss, the grief, and the resilience that carried us through the aftermath. May this day remind us that healing is not measured by how quickly the cracks disappear, but by how we keep rising, even as the cracks remain around us.

One year later, many of us are still here.

Still rebuilding. Still moving forward. Together.

The walls around us have fallen, but our commitment to serve remains standing, guiding us as we gather stories and give voice to a community striving to rebuild from the rubble. Every word, photo, and design is born from collective effort and forged by courage, creativity, and shared purpose.

This is our harvest, crafted to inspire, inform, and tell stories that matter.

As the fiesta of Lamintak Sur draws near, one of its nights is dedicated to our teachers for their hard work and unwavering commitment to providing quality education.

On the night of June 11, 2026, the teachers of Almacen-Torrevillas National High School as well as Antonio M. Pantaleon Elementary School gathered at Lamintak Sur Covered Court to enjoy a night without worries for tomorrow — just simply savoring the moment with pure joy.

To our teachers, we deeply appreciate the effort, patience, and lessons you instill in the minds of our young learners. May you continue to shape the future while also living the life the child in you once dreamed of.

Daghang salamat og padayon, Teachers!

An energetic June 1 to remember.

Almacen-Torrevillas National High School brought the energy to Lamintak Sur Covered Court as it held its annual Brigada Eskwela Kickoff, and the community eagerly showed up. Parents and students didn't just attend; they leaned in, listened closely, and gave everything the day asked of them.

Among the highlights were the formal induction of SSLG Recruited Officers, BKB Officers, and YES-O Officers, a moment that puts faces and names to the responsibility of student leadership. The program capped off with a Zumba Fest that made it clear that the AlTorians don't just work hard, they celebrate hard, too.

With united efforts, the school and its stakeholders continue to rise from the lessons of the past, and steadily build a path toward a better and brighter future — one that every student has the right to experience.

The ground roared.
Our homes shook.
Then the lights went out.

For months, our lives revolved around fear and despair, and in every moment our world literally moved, we were forced to bury our heads and hope, deeper into the ground.

But passion and positivity found their way through the cracks, and the stories that once told of struggle now tell of strength and survival, surging through the ruins and the piles of rubble.

The sleepless nights spent inside makeshift homes and tents turned into nights of shaping records to reports, and ultimately into tales of truth and inspiration. This issue does not just document the highs of a good harvest; it chronicles the painful parts of allowing steady growth even on shaking grounds.

RISING FROM THE RUBBLE

After the 6.9 earthquake rocked our corridors and classroom walls, the curtains closed, and classes paused. Silence echoed where lessons and loud laughter once lived. But beneath the piles of rubble rose stories of overcoming grief, of turning fear into fortitude, and of continued strength to stand firm on shaking ground.
