A total of 47 participants are taking part in the Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) Training being conducted from October 5 to 9, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen the municipalityβs preparedness and response capabilities during water-related emergencies.
Spearheaded by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), the five-day training provides participants with an opportunity to refresh, revisit, and enhance their water search and rescue skills. The activity focuses on strengthening their knowledge, techniques, and practical capabilities needed to respond to emergencies involving floods, drowning incidents, and other water-related hazards.
Through a combination of classroom discussions and practical exercises, the participants are expected to sharpen their rescue techniques, improve teamwork and coordination, and reinforce the importance of safety during rescue operations.
The training is part of the vision of Mayor Richard Garin βs commitment to building a well-trained, capable, and responsive disaster response team, ready to protect lives and provide immediate assistance for Miagaowanons.
