📢 OFFICIAL DECLARATION: THE BADIANG PLANT IS NOW THE PROTECTIVE FLORA OF BADIANGAN! 🌿🏛️

The 𝙂𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙏𝙖𝙧𝙤 or 𝙀𝙡𝙚𝙥𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙀𝙖𝙧 ( 𝘈𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘩𝘪𝘻𝘰𝘴), locally known as the 𝘽𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙜 plant, is officially declared as the Protective Flora of the Municipality of Badiangan, Iloilo!

On October 9, 2026, Municipal Mayor Atty. Squzette A. Mamon signed Executive Order No. 092, Series of 2026, formalizing our commitment to safeguard this living piece of our history and ecological heritage.

📜 Why the Badiang Plant?

• Our Living Namesake: The very name of our beloved municipality, Badiangan, was born from the word "Ka-Badiangan"—meaning a place where the majestic Badiang grows in wild abundance.
• Cultural Identity: From thriving quietly along our streams to standing proud as a deep symbol of our local folklore and environmental stewardship, the Badiang plant represents our resilience and growth.
• Legal Preservation: In accordance with the Local Government Code of 1991 (RA 7160) and the National Cultural Heritage Act of 2009 (RA 10066), this order mandates the documentation, safeguarding, and conservation of our local natural heritage.
Once a wild green treasure of our lowlands, it now stands as our official flagship flora—reminding every Badianganon of our roots, our culture, and our shared responsibility to protect the environment. 💚✨
Let us stand as tall and resilient as the Badiang leaf! 🍃
